Anyone ever used one and if so are they any good?

Took a taxi the other day and the driver was using one. Seemed pretty good.

My dad used to have one. Drove me nuts, constantly going off something like 500 metres before the next speed camera, which meant it never stopped through Watford!

Surely roads where there are fixed cameras (which is what these are designed to alert you to) are those that you would think twice about bombing down anyway?

I've been caught speeding twice before. Haven't been caught for over 2 years now though.

First time was 3 points and the second was 6 points ...

I know where all the fixed cameras are around here but on both occasions I was caught by hand held lasers.

Quite like the idea of the laser detectors?

Don't laser detectors go off when a laser is pointed at the car? By that point it's too late.. Or I could have gotten that wrong.

I thought so too. Rule is once you've seen it, they've seen you.

There is a more simple (and cheaper) way around this...

Don't get caught and slow down abit?

I find not speeding the best way not to get any points or fines works a treat

Not speeding is a great way around getting caught but to be honest if you're going to get caught then there's not much you can do really just have to hope you're a lucky little ******* like me haha

My dad's mate was raving about his Road Angel, I remember seeing them advertised in old Auto Express issues years ago, didn't think they still made em lol.

I quite like the app Waze on my phone - it's a sat nav but you can flag up on the app where there is a camera or if the police are hiding there and it shows everyone else who uses the app where you've placed the flag. Saved my ass a couple of times, especially on the drive down to Northumberland when I was picking up the Twingo
