how did you do that hand out the window?

Yep, hand held whilst contemplating a rig. Problem is, the price of anything decent :(

6 stop filter then played around with manual exposure to get a fairly slow shutter speed, without being too slow to blur everything. About 1/10sec was usable hand held at 10mm focal length, and 10-15mph was still safe enough for several seconds of one handed on a quiet road. The D300 has a good grip for one handed shots, but I do have a decent wrist strap just incase ;)

Very good considering it was hand held!

I was considering a rig as well, possibly even making one but even then it's not cheap if you don't want to risk rubbish suction cups falling off.

The cheap option is glaziers lever cups, but they aren't realy designed for the job. Then you have to cobble something together that is stable enough to take the weight of camera and lens without falling off, usualy ending up with very limitted options for positioning. Although, rig shots are normaly longer exposure and 1-2mph so less chance of a catastrophie anyway.

Rigs with variable positioning and pump cups are anywhere from £250+ :( but are designed for the job, so less chance of damage to camera or car

Glad they went down well.

The keep rate from the shots taken has been quite low. Just looking at a few more, but not up to much realy :(

Awesome. You have some skill, I think the camera would be a goner.
