Im in the process of planning a canoe trekking holiday next year, i have a 15ft single man touring canoe and obviously needs to go on the roof. firstly has anyone had anything this big on there before. its not the weight but the length. is there any law on this kind of thing? and any thoughts on the genuine renault roof bars fitting on the 133?

There is a law about making sure other drivers can see that your load is longer than your car - Usually this can be sorted out with popping a reflective strip on the front and back of your roof load.

I was told when I had my twingo that the roofs of all twingos are the same - I didnt go for the standard renault ones (mainly due to price) I collected the relevant parts off ebay to make a Thule set. They were very good - slight modification may have been needed to get the standard thule poles to poke out of the sides less.
