What is it with some salesmen.
My mum picked up her 3,000 mile old 20011 Twingo Gordini TCE this evening. Abolutely loves the car as do I.
Thing is though when she was looking over the car we noticed a small mark on the arch, couple of tiny chips that the salesman told us would be sorted so not to worry. He also promised a set of matts as the car didn't have any, again said they'd be ready for when she collects the car.
I give the car a look over and notice that the mark hasn't been done. When I point it out I get told, 'Well I did look over it with a fine toothed comb!' but low and behold the marks we pointed out weren't touched.
I check inside the car and no mats. I point it out to him and get told that they'd be in Tuesday. I know full well that they can get parts in within a couple of days so in other words he's not ordered them last week when we made the deal!!!
Do they simply hope people won't notice and once it's home they don't really have any comeback? Just annoys me that having experienced buying three new/nearly new cars in the last 18 months only one was a totally a hassle free purchase (My Gordini!).
It seems that a majority of salesmen are completely full of promise that they don't seem to deliver or just forget and then don't intend on honouring the entire deal!!
