garmin or tom tom are the only ones worth bothering about, the rest are pants

tom tom ftw ! get one with live updates its a free service and you get real time trafic updates :)

I had a nav man which I bought a few years back now for around £400 and it was **** now I just use the iPhone app skobbler some ppl moan bout it but I've not had one issue with it works really well but get a car charger for ur iPhone as it will kill the battery lol

It's the free app, ppl get annoyed saying it only goes to the first 3 digits of post code but I u type it all in it takes u to that exact point

i have a navman which was bought for my just after i bought my first car, and its still going good, apart from one time when the fuse went and i thought it had buggered lol

I take it back bout skobbler drove to Croydon on Monday - from Bristol (hire car was a BMW 320d m sport, which was nice but prefer the 133 by miles) and it decided to take me in to London not far from Fulham and Chelsea, wasn't happy!

I don't tend to use one much at all, but on the odd occasion I have, I've used nav free on the iPhone. Powered by open street maps so there's quite a lot of extra content on there that can be quite handy too.

I have a TomTom Start Edition2 which covers maps for Western Europe (including UK/Eire, obviously). It cost me about £80 on Amazon at the time I bought it (end of last year) and has all sorts of cool features and also tells you what lane you need to be in etc. It's small, compact and easy to carry (base folds onto back of sat nav), so you don't have to spend ages dismantling it all, it will just fold up and fit in your pocket or wherever you want to keep it.

One thing I will say about TomTom's though and I don't know if anyone else finds this, but their battery life leaves a lot to be desired.

tbh thee not bad at all if you cnarge it and unplug it when it is charged its fine.
but reaily if your in a car all the time and allways useing it as you keep chargeing it all the time the battery will decrease its life.
it's the same with anything reaily.

Hmm. I plug mine into the USB port of my PC and it loses its charge after about 30 minutes of being on the road, so I always leave it plugged into the 12V socket in my car, that way I can be sure it's not going to die on me.

Yea we have a few for sale at work but not got on them what i want

I have just ordered one and hopefully will be here tomorrow :)
