I think the wife's 1.5dci scenic top mounts have gone/goin it makes a fud noise when goin over bumps. It's nearly 4 years old with 38k on the clock.

R they easy to change or shall I get someone who knows what there doin to change them??

Mate they are easy to change. 7mm hex into the strut at top, 21mm deep neck spanner, undo spanner whilst tightening the hex to make sure it's tight, then once you have that initial nip on the hex just undo top mount. Then put new one on. Tighten up, jobs a goodun ;-)

The actual top mount I think we taking about... Rather than the bearing etc underneath.

It's the bearing that makes the ****** clunky noises when they're knackered. I'd change the whole thing in 1 go if I were you.

Unless the top mount is ruined? As what happened in my clio, the top mounts wouldn't stay fastened, bearing etc was fine but was top mount itself was knocking :)

Maybe, but either way daz, If you need the whole lot done bring it up to my garage and will get it done in an hour or so.

the top mount is the full part at the top of the strut, your referring to the top hat bolt that just secures it to the car. it will be the bearing thats failed, so yes as above, strut needs to come off the car
