I was in my girlfriends parents MG ZR and it has sporty slightly buckety seats.. I felt really secure round the corners but when I'm in mine I barely feel secure at all round the fun roads!
I like the ones that hug you sides and thighs..
Like both of these:

They wouldn't have to be expensive recaros or fixed bucket seats.. Just looking for a casual looking secure feeling seat! Any suggestions?

Try Cosworth Recaros.
Older shapes but still casual, good support and more often that not, leather.

Also try looking for Suzuki Ignis Sport Recaros, might need a retrim: Yellow fishnet is not to everyone's tastes.

Other alternatives: Accord Type R Recaro (you will loose Rear Tilt option though), Civic/Integra Type R Recaro (pay through the teeth!) Evo 4+ Recaros can also be made to fit (same problem with Accord Seats though).

Hope I helped :D

Haha yeah that's helps but they all sound expensive and a bollocks to fit! I'm guessing non are a straight fit.. I'm guessing you need to buy the subframes separately and then the seats! Just after some black hugging things xD

Wish I had some money to fit recaros

I've got a "Friend" named Lafonda if you want me to put her in touch with you

Seriously though, you'd be surprised at the price of the Recaros on the Bay.
But yeah, subframes and cut the mounts off the sliders on the Recaro and bolt them together.

I fitted Recaros a few years ago and did a how too somewhere; probably on the RS forum as I don't think I copied it over to hear. If you need any help, give me a shout.

Yeah a how to would be awesome, if i could see what kinda work goes into it i would look into doing it myself, because i dont want to spend money on getting them fitted! wheres the fun in that eh..

Would love some of those trendline recaro ones! they dont look to racey and they are in the megane sport and they look so nice!

I was looking at those gordini ones on ebay with the airbag gone off, they are so nice! would look awesome in my car, maybe not the blue, but they look abit more secure feeling..

Yeah same.. They do an all black set.. Plus they are cheaper.. Don't know if I want some or not.. Might make my car look abit wannabe rally car haha

Thanks mate

I could and I couldn't. I don't drive my car a lot >5000miles a year and about 1500-2000 is probably done on track or journeying to and from.

They are really supportive and great for track, possibly a bit too extreme for general usage and average driving a year.

I've done like 13,000 and it's not been a year yet!? Driveaholic..
Do any shops or big common stores sell sport seats?

Halfords do I think. And Demon Tweeks in Wales will have them on display. I was fortunate enough to be able to look and sit in a few of my trackday mates cars so made a decision based on that.

Cant seem to find any with halford :/
Cant travel to wales either :( I want some alcantara ones i think..
Just wondering if there is a reason why the ones i posted up there are so cheap! Dont want to buy some crappy seats :/

The Gordini seats are really nice. Would have had them had they have done a rear bench version as well.

On a serious note, I'm guessing your car is like mine with similar/same interior. I drove mine all the way to Scotland (a good 6 hour whack) with one stop and didn't get cramp and wasn't aching/in pain or anything. So from a comfort point of view, the standard seats are pretty decent in my opinion. :)

I nearly got the Gordini seats for in my car from a mate a while back, but then I decided I didn't want black and blue theme I want red and black so still waiting to see what seats pop up at a good price, but im gonna get rid in three years so don't want to spend loads of money on them and then not need them for my next car!
