Does anyone have an engine that doesnt shake (much)? If so could you post a video please?
Our 1.0 SCE shakes a lot at idle. You can see the engine movement when its ticking over and feel the vibration from the drivers seat.
(By the way all engine mounts are new - which cured a knocking noise when applying or releasing load with the throttle)
We've found some air leaks around the O-ring seals for the MAP, Temp Sensor and Purge Valve line which are affecting the fuel trim (+10% at idle and up to 50% in some low throttle medium rev situations, with low effect at WOT).
This was done by spraying brake cleaner around the inlet and watching the effect on the short term fuel trim on a scan tool. There was no noticable effect on the engine speed or note.
I'll get these fixed soon and then I want to know how much shaking is normal, so that I dont go chasing a problem that is common to all cars.
