Why oh why am I finding my self looking at them...

Pains me to admit but im loving the barbus fortwo, even been eyeing up the diseasel.

The gearboxes are horrible. Like proper horrible. If u can live with that then they are great fun. I test drove the roadster brabus and took it back after 10 mins.

at this point im not, trust me. Always grumble after Iv had to fill the car up.

do like the idea of getting 4x the mpg, but would have to remove my penis though.

Not a lot to remove, from what your missus told me. ;)

As for the Smart Roadsters and Coupes, believe it or not, there's a lot of ex-owners on the Wind forum. They say that the Smarts leak badly - amongst other problems.

It maybe small but it filled two prams :)

Yup the soft tops are apparently awful for it. A lass at work had a New roadster that she knocked back as there were puddles in the footwells, played havoc with the electrics also.

New SAM unit can be killer. Wiper blades with a mind of their own is usually one of the first give aways.

A finale edition brabus roadster coupe looks great, has all the toys and goes well. You can get them sealed too, or do it yourself

Gear boxes were improved, but still a PITA. And be aware, if the choice is made for economy, it won't happen. I get better MPG from the 133 than I did in the 71 451 I came from.

Oh and once I swapped the suspension and sorted the wheels and tyres the thing didn't even handle badly (skinny fronts and Eco tyres ruin it as standard, chassis being short and very very stiff chassis made it twitchy and quite fun)

If I had a garage I wouldn't mind a Brabus roadster coupe but that's reserved from something else

And being rwd made snow driving good fun! Fuse 11 out and a heavy right foot meant popping exhaust and sideways fun!

The SAM problems seems to affect quite a few of the merc range looking at things.

keep coming across your posts on a smart forum.

Do the 'gearbox remaps' actually make a difference? they claim -25% ish in shift time.

are the turbo's much worse on fuel?

Depends on what you're looking at.

450s fragile and fuel efficient. Deffo a product of the 90s based on looks and build

452 same build and good fuel economy in coupe/roaster guise and handles well

451 better build and a new Mitsubishi engine that revs and sounds great and isn't slow, but drinks fuel whatever.

454 is the for four so more conventional and I've always liked in Brabus guise,

the 454 Brabus is what i was looking at in the first place. then the 451 but def looks to be the wrong car from an economy point of view.

Decided when i change the car next, as much as I hate it, its full on gay eco time. But this will be some more cash for a "garage princess" weekend car at least.

My brother drives a Smart Roadster Brabus and I can assue you that a 133 takes off faster than the Roadster due to its automatic gearbox..

True. And I'll assure you that a roadster coupe is quicker mid gear than a mini cooper s :p
