Hi
I am a new member firstly hello everyone
I bought my twingo a year ago which was 2009 model and was a used motor and had nothing be grief with it from the dealership for as many problems than i can list going from steering columns to fitting tyres !! however a year later after the purchase of the twingo i notice where they did a smart repair part a job on the sale deal i did, on the front bumper which most would know is plastic has started to pitt quite badly, after noticing this i looked around the number plate to see a crap job where they taped it and when removing the tape they made it look worse. I took it back to the dealer and said i wanted them to look at while it was in the for a service at 23.000 miles they stated that they have take it to there bodyshop and they have said that they will do another smart repair on the car i told them i did not want them to carry the work out until i was satisfied however on collection of the car i went an hour early to inspect the work they was doing free of charge. The Work it terrible looks worse color and around the number plate just above i have explained i want the job done to a good standard and until then i am not prepared to take the car. I tried to push for the whole bumper to be sprayed and prepared properly but they want to do a quick repair and get it done on the cheap. After speaking to Renault uk they said they cant get involved because its part of the sales team. The dealers told me they are not warrantying there work after this time around even it goes wrong so they are not warrantying there workmanship strange. And this is all there prepared to do to my Vehicle I am in up raw along with a load of other faults have had with this dealership in Toomeys Southend Essex any help would be greatful

Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, the sort of problems you've had are all too common. All I can suggest is try contacting RUK again and be VERY persistent. When they say that they can't get involved, say that's not good enough until they do something. Enough hassling and they will eventually get it sorted. The dealership may as well not bother doing it again at the moment because if they're not willing to warranty it, that's a clear sign they're not going to do it properly.

The principle is not getting involved and Renault uk are saying sorry its not there problem !!

Sorry, I've changed what I'd written since I first posted it (I realised I'd misunderstood what's happened so far).

Anyway, it's not good enough! There is no complaint that a dealer principle shouldn't get involved with. He is in charge of the dealership and if a customer's not happy, it's his responsibility.

Try RUK again and be really firm. If you still don't have any luck, I'd suggest writing a letter to the Managing Director of Renault UK, Roland Bouchara. He won't respond personally but it will certainly ensure your complaint is handled properly and they'll DEFINITELY look into it for you. After all, the Renault badge is across their door, so it does most definitely concern RUK!
