Hi guys, I notice the 133 is spec'd with a full size spare, is it steel? If so anyone an idea of how much a new 17" alloy would be?

Cheers

There's always a few for sale on here. They're quite expensive from Renault

6.5x15"steel in a fetching shade of red. Does have a proper tyre on it, although only 185/55/15 so slightly narrower but almost the same overall diameter.

Cup alloys can be a pain to secure in the spare wheel well. I found the securing nut wouldn't actually reach the bolt so it was just sat in there and rolled about. They will also stick up more so the boot carpet will have a bigger bump in it.

Also have a nice sticker saying you shouldn't go over a certain speed. Comes in handy when you destroy a rim though. I did think about putting a full size in there but don't think ill bother if it doesn't fit properly.

After an incident with a pothole the size of cheddar gorge I unfortunately had to put my spare on and I road tested it for speed and it's pretty good at ahem "motorway speeds"

Can you confirm the spare wheel size? Test fitted my spare from my Clio today, exactly 185/55/15 on 6.5x15 and it doesn't seem right - sticks a fair bit above the floor level. Would say should be 1-2cm narrower to fit properly. Pic below - although it's hard to catch the height difference....

I bought a 14inch Clio wheel for the Wind not thinking about the brake caliper size DOH! Fits nice on the back but not the front so a double swap I guess if we pick up a puncture
