I know this has been covered several times, but I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for :?

My RS133 (standard, with cup pack) has door speakers, no tweeters and no tweeter wires. I'm looking to improve the sound by adding some basic component speakers (currently looking at Pioneer TS-130Ci )

Can anyone assist in letting me know how I would wire these in, what wires would run where, where I need to splice the wires, how is best to join etc? Any advice would be appreciated. I've searched this and other forums to no avail and google isn't much help

I've attached a photo of the wiring harness from various angles for reference.

Thanks.

While I've the door cards off, is it worth bunging some basic sound proofing material in there?

If you get get those pioneer speakers I think it will be a case of taking the old speakers old and plugging the new ones straight in without any wire cutting.

Do you know if you have rear speakers? If not you would need to splice into the wiring harness but can't remember which wires it is. If you have rear speakers it would be the same as the fronts.

As for tweeters I haven't got a clue sorry. Yet to fit some in mine, this has reminded me I need to do that thanks

I don't have rear speakers, unsure whether there are wires for this, but I doubt it - fitting the stock fronts to the rear might be something to investigate at a later date.

Currently I have 1 wire running to the stock coaxials - surely I need to add another wire somewhere for the tweeters?

Yes you'll need a wire from somewhere. Probably need to be spliced into the front speakers but I'm not sure as like I said I haven't fitted them or got any to check wiring with.

As for rears some people have had the wiring there already but no speakers. I had that on my first twingo so worth a look especially if you can just out the stock ones in so you have them.

Reminds me that I have to figure out, how the hell you get to the tweeters, and not just the tweeters themselfs but the wires that run through the dashboard..

There may already be wiring for rear speakers, even if they weren't fitted from factory. My car, unfortunately, did not have the wiring. Which would of made it easier to fit the speakers. I added some pioneer coaxials to the rear and components up front.

I think i recall the answer being:

Cups not likely to have wiring in the back
Full fats more likely regardless of speakers being fitted.

If there's space probably easier to splice into a harness though. Makes it easier to change/remove

So is it a case of making a Y in effect, so that there are two speaker cables for the front coming from the harness: where there is currently a + and - for the coaxials, I need to splice in another cable so that there is a + and - to the tweeters and a + and - to the woofers?

Where does the crossover come in?

I will check the rears tomorrow :)

You can buy specific components that are a straight fit and no need for crossovers, if you haven't already bought some.

Bit the bullet as I'm off over easter and bought Pioneer TS-G132Ci

I hope I haven't made things difficult, but the user manual seems to lean towards Renault, so I'm hoping it'll be relatively straightforward.

I hope to document the process for anyone interested.

I'm looking at fitting a little cheap soundproofing to the front (and maybe rear while i'm on) - how much will i need in sqm? Is flashing tape as suitable an alternative as people say? Any pointers for something cheap, but worthwhile?

Thanks all.

Its come to fitting and I've done the door speakers, put the tweeters in place and fed the wiring to the back of the HU, but am struggling to identify the front speaker wires - the colours in the doors aren't the same as the harness :s

Does anyone have any idea which colour is which (pics in 1st post)

It shouldn't be different to the wiring in mine even tho mine isn't a cup... I would have thought the wiring is universal throughout all the models??

The speaker wires are the two grey wires and the two white colour wires. They are your front door speakers I believe. At least they are in mine.

When doing mine iv wired in 2 cross overs between the HU and the door speakers. Iv hidden them in the foot wells tucked under the carpet.

If you making connections between the standard tweeter wiring and new wiring, iv just stripped away some plastic casing round the wire, wrapped the copper threads around each other and used electrical tape to secure it.

Also, there should be wiring to where your rear bass speakers should be.. Might just have fallen down inbeteeen some of the inside trim??

Hope that essay helps mate lol

Cheers for the reply.

The door speaker colours are; passenger - grey and orange, driver - pale pink and pale yellow.

Should I just match these colours up? They don't seem in any particular area on the harness - I'd presume that they'd be next to each other?

I've used the original wire for the door woofer and run a new wire in for the tweeter, with the intention of splicing this behind the radio. This is the wire supplied with the speakers and has a capacitor for the crossover.

Anyone have a wiring diagram / pinout for the Radiosat Classic Bluetooth?

With a multimeter you could buzz out the cables from the door speakers to the stereo multi-plug. That would confirm which colour wires are which
