How does it remove? Same as the rev counter equivalent?

I gave em a quick tug *sniggers* and they appeared to bend and I bottled it

You need something thin and hard, which im sure you will have ;) to go behind the rev counter ring and lift i think 4 clips to free it

the speedo ring it the same but you can get to the clips with your fingers by unscrewing a few torx screws under the speedo surround :)

I did it in the end. The screwdriver I chose was too thin and was bendig it. I then used the key which just popped it off hassle free

Now how do I get the door handles off?

I'll get to it tomorrow maybe.

I found Renault glacier white paint in halfords for £6 a bottle so nice and cheap!

Haha it's a nice gloss finish that isn't too bad at all. I've got plans don't you worry ;)

I heard that halfords' MG graphite colour is an almost perfect match for anthracite.. Might re-do mine

A tip for your handles, give them a really overly thick coat, cause mine have worn down to the silver after a few months! The twisty bits are doing alright though :)

Well after washing the car and thinking about it I think I'll do the gearstick surround, stereo surround and handles in black

I have no anthracite on my car and don't like the standard silver finish inside and keeping with the black and white id theme.

I want alcantara retrims of a few items to really finish it off when I can afford to as well.

Sounds like a good plan!
I was just saying about the anthracite for if anybody else was interested

Where do you want retrimming? ;)

Speedo surround, and to the side, a pillars and roof, source decent coloured roof trim items to suit, door inserts and then ideally half alcantara and leather seat retrims. But wouldn't be an immediate change and might even have to be a piece by piece transformation.

Sounds good, im in the process of getting some samples of leather to do my speedo suround, if i can get one with a little stretch it will be done! Wont have the really nice stitching though :(

My mum has a sewing machine, so if i get enough leather, i might have a play cause i get the jist of how it is done!

I'll deffo be interested to see! Im not too bad sewing (I'd rather fix clothes etc if they only need minor fixes than through them) so I've considered sourcing the material. However, alcantara is quite expensive in the sizes I'll need most of it! I'm not sure I trust myself to get it to the standard I demand

I know exactly what you mean, thats the inly reason i went for suede, its basicly the same stuff, just not as good quality/hasnt got a branded name

Im a perfectionist, which is a ball ache.

Doing my roof linning wasnt too bad, its rather simple, just get the right glue, take your time and dont stretch the fabric too far..

Door cards are piss, just dificult to glue back on, the trim bits are plastic welded on so i attempted to plastic weld them back on which isnt easy!

Ive done my roof 3 times now, last time took ke 10 minutes amd it pretty much flawless from confidence haha

1st time wasnt perfect, second time i used better glue with stretchier fabric amd was perfect, but the glue wasnt heat resistant, so it ended up looked like a tent inside haha

So i redid it with high temp contact adhesive spray and its done the trick and is holding through some really hot times in the car!

If your thinking about doing it yourself give me a pm, ill help you get the right glue and fabric that will stretch, alcantara does i think, im sure i saw somewhere it comes with a backing that can be taken off to make it useful for moulded things?
But not all suede stretches!

Cheers! I'd like the best I can afford but equally don't want to go OTT. And id like it to be a good match it I get the seats made up for instance. Have you got pics in your thread?

Yeah i see what you mean

The only issue i got with the suede is in sunlight it appears blue, its black in normal light, its wierd, and i dont think alcantara will do that so might look slightly diferent

I got pics of most of the things on there yeah, check it out! I might not have them all up so if theres anything you want to look at ill have a look
