As I'm a bit of a tall person I put the steering column to it's highest setting so I'm not hitting my knees while I'm steering.

Anyway the other day, I was driving up the road and went to pull into a gap to allow a car to pass. As I turned the steering wheel dropped like someone had just released the lever under the steering wheel.

Little unsettling to be honest and when I mentioned it to the other half she goes 'Oh, that's happened to me a few times now'. Nice of her to mention it!!

Has anyone else experienced this? The lever to adjust the steering height is not loose as such but doesn't take much force for it to undo. I'm wondering if a combination of harsh ride and loose enough handle caused it to undo.

If it happens to me again I'll be getting Renault onto the case but wondered if anyone had the same thing.

It happened to me on the track one day ... a bit confusing I have to admit, and my passenger started looking quite pale :D

Basically a hard drive can loosen it a bit and then, by inadvertance, you might hit it with your knee, that´s enough to release it...

Never happened to me (yet) might be worth getting them to look at it before it causes you further issues like an accident

im certain thats not meant to happen though no matter how hard its driven. thats quite scary

Yeah I thought the same things. No matter how hard you drive, which this car isn't anyway, I wouldn't expect this to happen.

I'm going to keep an eye on it and if it happens again to either of us it'll be a trip to Renault for T14 LOO.
