so as the name suggests, today i got started with chopping and fabricating the far wider subaru rails which measured 22.2 inches from bolt to bolt horizontally, wheras the renault from side to side bolt was 20.8inches . after a little thought, i decided to use some high grade mild steel to weld on some strong straight brackets to the subaru's rails. grinded the paint of and then spot welded on to line up and then followed it with the mig. went on solidly, then hacked the runners and rail off the twingo's oem seats which took some grinding to get it off the seat base but i got there eventually after alot of hammering and cutting. the rest was simple as anything. sat the twingo rails in the car bolted them on and spot welded two narrow bars across the axis of the floor to hold the shape of the newly created ''diy frame''. took them straight out and mig welded them onto the subaru seats. apologies for no pictures as i was tongue over my lip in full attack / confused zone to stop for snaps lol, and i have only got one done. The first one always takes much much longer, as you have a lot of problem solving to get out the way. now that i know exactly what to do, it will only take me half an hour to botch the drivers side seat up wheras this one took me 3 hours.
although the seats will be upholstered soon, here is the result
edit, these cost me 98 pence on ebay for the full interior
