Obviously lots of "forum opinion" AKA bullcrap. But has anyone on here actually run them. I'm only interested if YOU have.

Please gimme your thoughts. They will be going on the cup alloys in 205/40/17 most likely, just a comparison to the conti's is all thats needed. They're half the price of the conti's (so a plus) and in my past experience aren't as quick wearing as people say (in fact 20,000 miles on a set and looked barely worn, on the same car i managed to chew through a set of conti eco contacts in 5,000 miles ) and they only need to last me through to next summer when I have something special planned.

The car won't be driven on it's handles between now and then as the roads don't allow anyways.

had them in 195/50 R15 on my clio valver. good everyday tyres, but not performing well on track due to massive sidewall flex and the fact that they are overheating really quick

I found them excellent in the wet on road, I think I'll give them a shot until then, the price of conti's for a comparable size is just silly. The car will NOT be tracked until the summer when my something special comes out *sniggers*

Just shelled out for them on my new 15s and used them (to great effect ) on previous cars too :)

Good dry tyres, Polyester sidewalls so there is a little give in the sidewall.
As Fredii has said, they do tend to overheat and bead up on hot quick drives so wouldn't recommend them for full track use.

Also quite good in the Wet, nice and predictable - Don't expect to drive it the way you would in the dry, but still very good :)

I'm well chuffed with them, much better than the Falkens that were on my 17s :(

Could a lot of the difference be between the sizes though?

I have been impressed with them elsewhere, they transformed my old car. And I did like them. Just wanting a comparison between them and the conti's was all. As I said, overheating isn't an issue at all. THey're not being tracked.

Through understeer and lack of wet grip on the Falkens...I think that's all down to tread and compound.
With 50 Profile sidewalls on my Toyos, still barely understeer compared to the falkens.

as far as difference in size and sidewalls is concerned: I also recommended them to my mother for her 225 R26 shopping trolley... an extended testdrive told me the 235/somethingR18 tyres had the same issues as the 195/50R15 on my valver.

Well I'vejust boughtt them. Stupidly, and not thinking I bought all 4. When I realise I only need 2 for the rear as the rears are still good for a few thousand more miles  by which point I'll have changed them over again most likely

Maggi you would need to change all four anyway as you'd give the ESP a nitemare running Different sizes between front and rear.

ESP can always be turned off. If anything I imagine understeer will increase, but not many other negative effects, it's only for a short while besides (at this rate a month )

I've played around with staggered tyre setups and wheel offsets previously with very sensitive esp so am quite confident of this! The other two are going on at a later date. the reason I didn't wanna buy all 4 at once was storage. Simply nowhere I can safely store tyres :(
