Right topgear going on about the cars better then the Nissan they had on there last night.

When the BMW or Merc you have just brought goes wrong in the first 3 years they will cost you big money to repair but when the Nissan goes wrong its under warrenty.

Running costs of the cars with the fuel prices now days the Nissan will be a hell of a lot cheaper to run and also wont drink so much.

Insurance also the Nissan will win that one as it has a baby engine compared to the other 2 cars.

Tax yes the Nissan will be cheaper on that due to engine sizes.

Where does it end on them 2 cars being more money overall?

As Hammond and Clarkson says yes both cars without a doubt will be more fun and have more goodies on but with the current climate and with everything going up in price the Nissan would be the winner on prices.

And that;s the conclusion they came to. They're that price because of the running costs associated with them. They were doing an admiral job of trying to kick start the used market to be fair

I know thats the conclusion they came to but still

Also like they said they brought the cars so how long do we think they will last with Hammond and Clarkson behind the wheel. Blown engines?

No chance on either I would imagine. Neither car has a reputation for being unreliable (the merc probably being the last properly made merc). I'd be more worried about catching an std from clarksons motor than the engine blowing up

I forgot about the sprcial juices found in Clarksons car

Least the car got to see some action i suppose

think u are sort of missing the point karl!top gear is aimed at people who like cars and actually drive them
most car fans dont buy a car because of tax band or fuel costs. :ugeek:

im sure that if ud thought about it then u would never have bought the 133 but ended up with a diesel clio or something!!!

also think due to top gear last night i bet most people who like cars and sit infront of a computer all day spend at least 5mins searching for a second hand supercars..................

+1 I'm with you there

my little bro wants to get into motorsport/track days but after quizing me forever and following me round diff tracks he's decided its too expensive.

but after top gear he has spend the day looking at mega cheap light/rwd cars that have some potential!!
(mx5 all the way!i said id never speak to him again if he buys a mgf)
iv said that if he buys one then il build/fix it and dad has agreed to pay for his basic race licence.

so top gear could have a lot to answer for

The number of times I have nearly bought a 840/850 BMW. Just love those cars.

out of the two its a tough choice but i think i would have gone for the merc as i love them!
i would have thought they were worth double the price they paid tho!!

S2000 over the tt any day. Much better value, much nicer cars. Also it can make up which wheels it wants to drive :p

I've promised myself one when I qualify, if it takes much longer i'll be looking at nsx's :D
