Sad times. There was an event on at lava ignite in Northampton last night and it all got out of hand.
One of the students from the university was trampled and died from her injuries.
It's a sad day for us up here :-(
It was a "lock in" rave night at the club and they put out an announcement saying that the night is over at about half 3, they said that there were only two coaches to take people back (they came from different unis) so people were rushing to get out for that + loads of fights so people were leaving, and then someone set the fire alarm off so people panicked and then rushed, Nabila (the girl) tripped on the stairs out and then people didn't realise coz they were all being pushed forward so were just walking on her like she was a step.
Theres two more people critically ill in the hospital in intensive care - about 7 others have left hospital today. Im glad i didn't go now, just sad for her family and friends who found out via the news this morning
Thats terrible news my thoughts go out to the family and friends. when people panic it makes things worse and it's horrible that a poor girl has lost her life because of this.
a lot of clubs have these lock in raves and hope that after this news people take more care when they go to them.
Feel for her family being at uni she couldnt have been very old either. They said on the radio today that ther police had been called at midnight about the club. Dont know how true this is
Christ its grim. Hope the club gets a proper kicking for allowing it to get that over capacity, i would be disappointed if they don't lose there license and someone is held accountable. still won't help the bereaved family.
That is very very sad news as she's obviously not very old either!
I've been to a few gigs where there's been a huge crush/surge of people and it's bloody scary. That's with me being a big bloke and without the panic of a fire alarm.
