I have noticed recently that my car tends to turn under braking, normally to the left. Under light braking its not so bad but once firm pressure is applied it's a battle to keep the damn thing in a straight line. Is something amiss with my car or is this normal?
I was having a little drive yesterday and I was braking up to a roundabout. Firm braking meant the car turned so much I never had to even steer left to get the car around.

Could be anything to do with brakes... pads fallen apart on one side, warped disc, hose kinked.

Or, could be as simple as tyre pressures.

Mine fidgets a bit, with the back end getting light. Never any real bias to one side though.

As said tyre pressures correct?
Being as its still new, get it back and see if theres any imballance side to side on the brake test rollers.

Well its not the tyre pressures I checked them and they are all correct, and they aren't worn either. What should I look for? bearing in mind this car is just over a month old so it's not going to be really worn parts.

Doesn't have to be a worn part, could easily be a faulty part.

Get it to Renault and have them check it out.

Alright fair enough was kinda hoping it would be something simple so I wouldn't have to take it to be checked :(

A local MOT garage will have brake test rollers and would probably do a quick test for any imballance. If asking nicely, probably free ;)

I've encountered this a few times when braking really hard, the rear tends to go to the side.

Feels almost as the brakes are too hard for the car.

I always find this with one road, where the camber is opposite to the slight turn in the road. Really off putting.

I find the 133 can tramline slightly, and has thrown me a few times (not literally). Basically, whatever Neil said, do that.

mine dart's all over the place as i have no back seats in atm but with the seats in it tends to be better under braking :)

Doesn't make blind bit of difference in mine

well putting it on a set of brake test rollers would narrow things down a bit. If theres an imballance in the braking force, then look at the brakes sticking etc...

If the brake force is even across the axle, it should pull up in a straight line. Unless theres an induced steering force. Could just be tramlining, but could also be the suspension settings
