Im tempted by these, but they look like you use the original bolts to bolt them on, and them use nuts to hold the wheel on? anyone know if these are better/worse?

Is this a general question, or specificaly about an item on ebay which you forgot to add the link for?

20mm or more per side, the spacer is usualy bolted onto the hub with special bolts (high tensile and usualy a relatively shallow head) that sit flush with the face. The wheel is then bolted onto the spacer just as if you were attatching it to the hub. FK and Eibach both do ones which are TUV approved so decent quality

For thinner spacers, theres not enough metal to machine a recess for the bolt head whilst retaining enough metal for strength. Longer wheel bolts are readily avaliable in +10 and +15mm lengths

Extra long wheel bolts may be avaliable, but probably harder to find for +20 or more

Woops!
Theres the link, i know you get the type that bolt onto the hub, and then you bolt onto spacer, but these look abit different!

They will be the ones for a hub which has studs and wheel nuts already. If you did a stud conversion, you could use these

Ahh right, so i couldnt use these as they are then?
hmm :(
On the FK site they dont do 25mm hubcentric spacers, only 20mm, not sure if that would be enough! 5mm though, hmm

Ide buy the eibach pro ones without a doubt, but just think they are £120 for two its abit much! I'm tryna get them for around £150 for all 4 tops, the ones on fk are the right price, but not the right size :( I think if I spend £160 on all four 20mm spacers, I'm worried it won't be enough and it won't make much of a difference! Plus if I get 20's I will have to shorten my original bolts, so hoping 25mm all round will be okay! Just can't find them cheap enough :(

Ooo Billet steel, that sounds good :)
"A semi-finished long product of up to 150 mm square cross-section with round corners. Billets can be continuously cast or hot rolled from either ingots or larger concast billets and blooms. They are re-rolled or forged into other forms"

Or maybe they have just been turned down from piece of round stock steel. Being steel, they should be strong enough but will be heavier than the Eibach/FK 50mm spacers which are alloy with have steel bushes where the threads are. Also, what quality are the bolts? Having TUV approval, the german ones will be good but theres a price premium

20mm thick (40mm kit) bolt-through spacers will be much cheaper as it is only one piece of metal machined and drilled, but then you need 8 long wheel bolts (per axle) as well ;)

Haha sounds like alot of mech talk.. So what's your verdict! If they seem decent and approved by the one and only singlespeed then they must be fit to buy!

Whats these then?

Approx £80 a pair, so ~£160 for all four , plus ~£10.31 postage

Ahh yeah :$ guess they did have some that I wanted, recon they will be better than the billet steel ones?

Better... Depends on how you would qualify better?. They would be lighter. Metal spec of the bolts and quality may be higher, although that depends on how good the steel ones are. Not being psycic or having tried a set, I wouldnt know.

Eibach, H&r and FK kit has been good from what I have had

It's not like its an important issue... They only hold the wheels on

Haha alright then cheers, I'll proberbly go for the fk ones.. Will be early next year though, buying some cymbals for my drum kit first!
Cheers for the input

Completely misread that at first and wondered what the hell a set of cymbals would do to help a set of drum breaks.....

...... It's been a long day

what you on about, did you not know there is a drum kit inside your break drum?
pahaha amatures..
