Hello all,

New here, so sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I have some questions.

I have just purchased a 2010 Twingo Gordini with 28k on it.

The cambelt is supposed to be replaced after 6 years or 72k. I think i know your answers but is it worth changing at the moment?

If so, does anyone know of decent reputable places/specialists in the Birmingham area.

Any info would be great :)

Ola! Congrats on the acquisition.

Unless it's noisy (and bear in mind the 133 engine is a bit lumpy/noisy on cold start) it's not due so long as the car has FSH with regular oil changes.
Replacing the cambelt is part of the job - it's also worth doing the water pump, tensioner, dephaser pulley and aux belt at the same time. Expect to pay around £600 with Renault for the lot, less at a competent independent.
Of course if you're doing plenty of "spirited driving" you may jut want to do it for peace of mind. And you will do lots of that kind of driving - the 133 encourages it!

If I was in your shoes and didn't mind the expense right now,I'd have it done. I'll be having mine done next year even though mine's a 13 plate with 20k currently, just for peace of mind.
