Ello Twingers! I have already put a little introduction to myself and the car in the Intro's page, but in order to start off a sort of 'progress' thread for my little black Twingo ill give you all an idea of how it happened.

I bought a 2002 Clio in February as a cheap runabout until i could afford something decent. 4 months later a family member was selling their 2009 Panda and (desperate for a new car) I jumped on it, buying it for much less than it was worth. I only drove it for a month or so before realising what a mistake i'd made. Still owning the Clio, i decided to sell it, then trade the Panda in and get something different. I spotted my Twingo online and took a test drive the next day in my lunch break. After cleaning my underpants I managed to make a deal on the Twingo without test driving anything else. It was exactly what i wanted. After trading and selling the car was totally paid off :)

So here it is:

Couldnt stand the stupid dodgem aerial thing, so bought a rubber stubby one. I also contemplated wrapping the badges like I did on my clio, however for £20 I thought i'd rather not have the hassle, and not having them look like the were coloured in by a child:

Should I de-twingo? I think it would look the dogs with it de-twingo'd, but would rather get peoples opinions!

I also couldnt help myself... so i bought some private plates. My names Jack, so you can see how these fit ;) just waiting on my certificate!

My definite future plans are going to be:
Wrap Mirrors in black
Wrap Fog surrounds in black
Paint wheel diamonds black (maybe eventually do the wheels)
(I like black)

And from then on i'll be playing it by ear! No idea what i'll do to it at this point in time, but everything will be uploaded here when it happens :) Cheers!

Looks like a nice little GT you have there.. I'll admit that i'm not a fan of the all black idea but each to their own i suppose. i've been tempted to remove the Twingo badge but then i guess it lets people know whats just over taken them :)

Mike Healy on here has a good progress thread on here for GT modifications which you should check out..

Cant wait to see what you have next in store.

De-Twingo'd, wrapped the mirror caps in carbon that i had left over and then wrapped my wheel diamonds! Also removed the god awful stickers on the door handles.

Need to figure out how to remove the fog light surrounds to wrap those, tried pulling, tried pulling away wheel arch inner to push them out. no dice. Not going to be removing the whole bumper for that haha.

Drums and Callipers will be getting sprayed in the near future, they look like crap.

looking good so far...

as far as i'm aware unfortunately you have to remove the front bumper to unclip the fog surround! i'd ask Mike as he's wrapped his fog lights so maybe able to shed light on how he did it.. what your plans for the spoiler? if you're wrapping most of the car black / carbon effect it may "stand out"

any plans on new wheels or keeping them stock / re-sprayed?

is it just external "mods" planned or you thinking about any perfomance ones>?

Typical! Dreaded having to do that but i suppose if i have some free time i might give it a go. Not sure on the spoiler yet. will probably end up being carbon as i prefer the textured look of the carbon vinyl than just plain black.

As for wheels... still undecided. I'd like a set of black/anthracite alloys, then lower and get spacers, but it will literally be a case of when I can afford to do so. I have a bike and another project bike on the go at the moment so im divvying up time & money in between all 3 haha.

Again performance mods will come in due time! Not really sure what performance mods to go for yet, still need to do my research :) Everything will come together in the end though, it will just be an ongoing project! :D

the fog covers come off in one like this mate. a couple of small flat head screwdrivers will help prise them off then you do literally have to pull them!! the clips are quite durable so dnt worry about breaking them.

you can just about see the clips on the left hand side (more like tabs really) on the pic above, hope this helps

Got some more vinyl wrap and did the spoiler:

Fog surrounds:

And then made my own orange "GT" stickers for them :D

and a carbon one for the back

So she now looks like this!

Bought a set of RS cup wheels in anthracite off of Waitey on this forum and are expecting them this week :) Depending on how they look I might get some spacers so that they sit in the arches better. Then lowering is a possibility, and finally onto mechanical mods :) Thats it for now!

Thanks for this, it helped :D They took a lot of jiggery pokery to get off. Ended up breaking a clip on each side but the rest hold the surrounds on so nothing to worry about!

How did you make the gt stickers mate, car looks lush

Bought some gloss vinyl self adhesive sticker paper for inkjet printers and some clear vinyl/sticky-back plastic. Printed the logos onto the gloss paper then covered it in the vinyl to make it waterproof. Then you just cut them out as a pair and stick them like normal stickers :)

They look mint mate, I've been looking for some online but can't find them anywhere

looks spot on mate keep up the good work!!!

I got mine off ebay. search "renault gt stickers" under worldwide not uk only. mine came from france.

So my wheels came the other day and i am very chuffed with them! I thought i'd stick them on right away:

But I encountered a problem. Due to the offset of the cup wheels being more than the standard GT wheels, the tyres rub on the shock. Here is the difference:

The cup alloys sit too far in, despite being wider! So last night I ordered up some 25mm spacers (hubcentric bolt-on jobs) and they should be here tomorrow. As soon as i get everything fitted ill take some photos and update the thread. Putting the one side on was a bit of a tease though :(

Looking good :)

The spacers should sort it out nicely, as they did with the Cup alloys on Hollies car

Spacers came and went on followed by wheels. They look just right ;)

Also did my calipers and drums in VHT black as opposed to their original colour (rust). Looks the dogs bollocks! Very chuffed :D

Glad to see they've arrived!

Spacers will set it off just right

Cheers waitey. I was thinking about getting them refurbished but for the amount of damage that is on them i deemed it not worth forking out the money until it was absolutely necessary. For now they will remain untouched!

I went over a big bump the other day and cracked my windscreen  phoned autoglass and was quoted $486! Ended up going local but my cheapest was still £241. So many nice things i could have bought for the twingo with that money
My stickers, albeit staying on, were looking a bit faded and tatty, so i bought the set that Mike bought from france and they are very very good quality. Decided it would be a good idea to give it a wash too since i havent done that in over a week, then went and painted my wheel diamonds black :)
