Hi guys I'm new to this, bought a 133 silverstone edition in 2011 and have been reading up alot on the r2! Really like the noise on that thing and was wondering if anyone knew what's the closest I could get to sounding like it? :) cheers
 
Welcome :)

You could make it sould exactly like an R2. Chris is selling an engine ;)

Although, I guess your after something a bit less ambitious, the R2 has a completely upgraded engine and a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, hence sounding exactly like one will be very expensive.

Being a Silverstone, you already have the RS backbox which is a very expensive option and has a nice sound. Infront of that, theres two silensor boxes which could be replaced with plane tube instead. I doubt if it would be like an R2, but it will be a relatively cheap noticable change.

Welcome to the forum :)

As Neil (singlespeed) has said, the differences between Road going 133 to R2 are substantial!

High Comp forged pistons, Aggressive non VVT Cams, Magnetti Marelli ECU, 4-1 Tubular manifold with collector on front pipe enclosing sports cat, Singlebox exhaust system, different airbox - all RATHER expensive.

In terms of noise, there are a couple of cheaper options you can do:
Airbox bung removed (Lefthand side of airbox) and a high flow element - BMC Panel Filter
Exhaust boxes 1 and 2 removed - Straight Stainless Steel "Repair" Section.

Should give you a headstart with noise :)
 
Also I was surprised how much of a difference a remap made to the engine note. After the rolling road session at Ktec it was a noticeably harder and more aggressive sound. I think they charge about £300 for this now, which for the benefits is great value for money.
