If I up rate my tyres from 205/50/17 with a load rating of 93 (extra load) can I use 225/40/18 with load rating of 92 extra load?

In theory one can take max, 650kg wile the other can take 630kg. I cant find tyres with 93 load rating for 18" sizes.

Thanks in advance.

They'll rub surely, as well as looking like its on stilts

Plus you didn't mention changing the wheels? Only tyres?

Going for 18" alloys on a twingo?
Meganne cc mentioned below their name.

Load rating isn't part of the MOT unless you have ministry plate like on a goods vevicle. The load index and speed rating show the max speed and the loading at that speed... So on theory, you could have the meggy on two wheels whilst doing over 100
