I put v power petrol in my gt but now it's £1.34 a liter I'm thinkin of puttin normal shell in. Dose v power do anythin or for the past 3 years have I Been wastin my money by usin it??

Personally I never bother. Our cars are not pure-bred engines dependent on a rich octane source. I liken fuel to air filters - the larger the engine, the greater the difference they make, hence why both make very little difference to a 1.2/1.6.

When I had a C2 VTS I used Vpower all the time and it seemed significantly better than the "cold-tea" version.

When I traded for the Twingo, I asked the dealer about it, and he said DO NOT USE Vpower. Apparently the Renault engine is tuned for 95-98 octane petrol and Vpower is 99 octane.

Don't know if it would do any damage, but don't want to risk the warranty - normal Shell or Tesco juice both seem just as good...

Might also add to that, I used to use it for trackdays but last year through lack of V-power at a garage I used normal petrol and it made zero difference to performance/engine stability/flat spots etc.

I know all engines are different but as a rough idea...

They claim you get more miles out of it and it cleans your engine.

But dont Shell have there cheaper fuel claiming to give you more miles?

Also talking to people they say turbo cars run better on it then the normal fuel but N/A engines have no difference. I just put the normal fuel in but once a month fill the tank with the V power to clean the engine 5th gear did a show on it ill have a look for it on youtube

Renault recommend 95 Ron with the twingo so that's what I use. If its not mapped for higher octane then it most likely won't make a difference.

I believe the 2.0L's are mapped with 98 Ron in mind though.

I only use it cos when I had my 100hp panda it made a difference with it in. From day 1 I've been usin the v power diesel in her scenic. Never had truble with usin it in my gt

one of my carb engines will only run on v power :( :(
but on modern engines it shouldnt really make much diff espec on smaller cc's.
altho u can have most ecu's mapped for diff fuels.

technically to a point higher rated fuel can be a good way to "clean" the insides of ur engine
(to a point ,then its damages stuff) but i doubt anyone would ever notice

u should try race fuel, then u should notice a diff  but not on the road ;) ;)

the price fuel is all petrolheads are pretty much f***ed so why not!!!
every little helps!!!

I stoppe using normal after the dealer put the first tank o standard it went all lumpy and engine management lights came on and said stop . Which I did then switched off And started again it did the same anyway after that I put a tank of v power in never had problems since so that's what I'm using plus I feel better know good fuels in the car.
