Velcro pads for number plates?

Can anyone recommend any for removing my plates when I'm cleaning the car and need to take the plates off?

IMO a bad idea. Theft of number plates is pretty popular these days for use when nicking fuel, I wouldn't bother.

If you have to though I'd use these;

I hang framed pictures in the garage with these, pretty strong

Speak to Maggi as he has his on like that and hasn't had any problems. Also makes it easier to clean the plates

Update - tried to take the plates off at the weekend and as well as being screwed in they are stuck with double sided foam tape. Recommendations for getting that stuff off?

Heat and fingernail then sticky stuff remover for the residue, job done just takes a little bit of effort
