Think of a 3 door car, how often do you let people in the drivers side to the back seats?

The mini clubman has 3 doors too, although they forgot the fact that the UK want the extra door on the passenger side, not the drivers side!

sat i one (the dealership that the mrs is buying a car from has one in) and its very nice. be a damn site more interesting when the 1.6 turbo comes out

it works in europe but here the door will be the wrong side. i realy doubt a mum wants to take her kids into the road just to get them in the back of the car

No Hyundai swap it round for each market so it won't be in the road

It didn't get a great review in terms of driving dynamics which is a shame as the old coupe was great

I think this looks great though and the turbo is meant to step it up

Lol I didn't like it At first but it's a grower and actually quite cool I think

I only ever drove a early v6 one and a 2005 1.6. the V6 was the laziest engine I have ever driven, wouldnt rev but pulled like a train. the 1.6 was pretty much useless, but handled much better. less of a weight strapped to the front end.

I just hope they sort it out for th turbo model with some proper hot hatch handling to challenge the best out there. The coupe was lovely to drive and felt properly sporty and first word on this is it doesn't match yet

Looks good to me.

I had a Hyundai Sonata in the mid-90s. Awesome amount of kit as standard, and a half-decent 2-litre motor like they used in the Coupe..

Bomb-proof reliablity like a Jap car but a fraction of the price in those days..

I like the look of the veloster. If they get one that drives well, it'll be a good shout.

Old hyundais and kias were a laughing stock. Nothing to laugh about now though...

Mum's just about to get a kia piacanto. I would laugh, but it's cheaper than a twingo, more kit than a twingo, better built than a twingo, better looking than a twingo, 7 year warranty and actually I'd even say almost as good to drive.

In fact for the price she's paying she's got a LOT of kit and it looks fantastic. Renault is gonna loose out to the koreans big time at this rate

From what I saw, they (as stupid as it seems) always have the extra door on the passenger's side, so it would be a COMPLETELY different shell for LHD to RHD...Stupid IMHO.

Why? Cos it's one of the first things everyone always talks about the clubman. That and how ugly and common they are.

The idea of getting passengers, particularly small kids, out into the road isn't a bright one

Just for financial sense more than anything else, making 2 completely different shells and 2 completely rear doors is surely more expensive overall than making one shell and have 3 doors with it..like I said, my opinion, you don't have to agree with it :p
