Hi all my warning light (spanner) came on this morning after about 2 miles of slow driving followed by limp mode!

There was no indications that anything was wrong except the past 2/3 days my dump valve doesn't seem to be holding any boost and vents constantly even when driving with partial throttle!

That has only recently become apparent, it never use to do this before!

So I pulled over turned the engine off few a few mins and limp mode went and so did the warning light but my DV is still blowing constantly.

My service is due on 1151 miles which means it will have covered 60k and has a KTR exhaust 182 injectors bmc panel filter and RS tuning remap.

Another thing to add is it didn't start this morning after 3 attempts so waited a few mins then it fired up straight away.

Any suggestions?

Over fueling due to loss of boost. Wet plugs this morning.

Sounds like the likely cause is already obvious

Thanks for the reply Neil! I've ordered the forge spring tuning kit when I woke up anyway, I will check the plugs also.

Until the spring kit comes I may refit the standard BOV again.

At least you can easily eliminate the likely cause by going back to the standard one

The small spring between the pistons was snapped, ordered a service kit and fitted the old Bosch unit.

Will there be any fault codes as said above?

Not the same issue here though Carrie just same dashboard symptom

Ok fixed the DV and now cents fine but I now think my timing may be out!

Eurgh! Hard to explain but when Paul mapped my GT he raised the idle to 700rpm on low revs like just up to 1000rpm and letting off it drops back to the original 500rpm and the car shudders and feels like it will cut out.

Ever since the remap it has never had a smooth idle either and now I actually have sat in the car to listen there's a slight tapping as if the timing is wrong.

Any suggestions?

i'm at work, so can't watch the clip.

If your cam timing was out and you can hear a tapping, potentialy hearing valve to piston contact, its going to be expensive. I'm not sure how the TCE cambelt is tensioned, but i assume the belt pulleys are not keyed, so theres potential for some movement.

Ignition timing being too far advanced for some reason, or a hotspot of some kind could cause pinking/detonation.

On a much brighter note, a blowing exhaust manifold or gasket can sound like a tapping noise
