Hi Guys :)

JUst wondering if any of you can recommend a decent place just for a weekend break? I don't want to go somewhere really busy and full of brits. Im after a nice relaxing weekend during my time off before i go to Uni in september. Havn't got a major budget.. but if its worth it money is no object ;-)
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Cheers, Courtney.

I would also appreciate anybodies suggestions, i want to go away with my girlfriend and relax somewhere before uni starts back :)

after the 3 peaks challenge, we stayed in Caernarfon in wales. We stayed in a Hostel for £16.50 a night and its nicer than some hotels ive stayed in, called totters, just inside the castle walls in the city centre so close to everything. was a really nice place to visit

pics are from iphone so grainy

Loch ness. Cracking drive. Hauntingly beautiful place. I will try to dig out the hotel I stayed in a few years ago. Expensive but worth every penny as the majority of tourists won't use it.

* found it, called the lovat. https://www.thelovat.com/. Pay the extra for a modern room. The steaks were awesome.

You looking to stay in the uk? (if so there's plenty of great country houses/remote b&b's etc for quiet retreat)

A bit further afield and there's plenty of awesome places, but there can be much more to do than you can fit in a weekend, as well as plenty of relaxy places

If you can afford it and get decent flight times i would recommend croatia, its a fantastic country, plenty to see/do or not depending on preference.
Went to a place called Biograd last year, it was superb

You might wanna visit Amsterdam? It's a fun place, full of tourists, but something totally different from the UK.. though you probably won't relax that much..

if you're looking abroad try the Algarve in Portugal (Albufeira), if you want more specific details of hotels and things feel free to ask - but it's a great place to go for a long weekend or 3- 5 day trip and you can guarantee weather will be nice :)

I was thinking along the lines of Tunisia or maybe Egypt just for a week? Would like to go to Aussie land but for a week it's a bit far.. I'll have to speak to my uncle and see if he still has an apartment in hurgarda..

i went to portugal for 25 pound last year, then stayed in a hotel for 18 pound a night, weeks holiday for next to nothing :D

What about doing the 'ring? It's a experience no matter what.

However cost me 1k last year.

Tunisia or Egypt? After all them political wars they had this year I'd steer clear lol. I suppose you'll be alright, just don't venture into Libya!

Yeah. But Egypt the problems were all in Cairo, hurgarda isn't near there, and Tunisia.. Yeah true i would have gone to Tunis but I dunno. It's just an idea ;-) when I get chance I might pop into sta travel and see what they come up with ;-) then book it online!

Compared to ripley, it's nice, haha. It's close to the sea so that's always good. I thought it was quite nice haha. The only bad thing is it's covered in seagull poo.

North Wales' coast in generally covered it seagull poo!

I guess its nice when it comes to the scenery, its castle and the whole area in general, its just the people that bring it down. Same with a lot of towns around me, Bangor, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl (*shudder*), the people really bring them down. Did you pop to Conwy? Thats really nice
