Way past most people bed times, nobody about. God the twingo took some abuse.

Renaultsport got something so right with this car, I have owned much quicker cars in the past but even the alfa that I spent nearly 3k on getting the suspension right didn't feel as well setup, just so balanced and begs for another corner. On the right road I do think the RS133 would be a tough car to keep up with.

Have to say Renault know what there doing when it comes to hot hatches

The light steering around town made me think at first something was up, didn't feel like I expected. As soon as it gets a little speed, weights up it's something else! I love my car through the twisties :p

I found myself pretty much goading it to see how out of space i can get it in a corner, but the little bugger just held on in there. Its not the the speed it does it just to momentum it can carry though a bend thats impressed me.

indeed it reaily holds in there when i get some new tyres i will be thrashing the chaves of bristol yh !!!!!!

i think most people will run out of talent before the car runs out of grip even with the traction control off, the car gives a lot of feedback as well which is useful

Only criticism is a little tramlining! Not a problem on the track but on most roads in this country.

And the feel isn't really there IMO. Certainly grips and goes though :D

considering the power steering is electronic, it gives a lot more feedback than most cars i have driven, its not going to give as much as some other cars but its certainly enough to respond and make adjustments

agreed to that, i like the weight that's added with some speed. I drove a z4 that was either broken or designed like that but at 70 the steering was still horrid and light and the twingo is much better than that. I'm certainly still adjusting to fwd, the smart was rwd and thanks to that and a relative lack of power booting it wasn't an issue like in the twingo :p

When I test drove the twingo the roads were very smooth and there was no noticable tramlining, but mine is quite noticeable! Just gotta be on the ball obviously when driving with any sort of speed. Find the right road and the right conditions though and I've already realised just how well the car is set up!

The beauty of the Twingo apart from it's handling is it's lack of power.

I mean that the chassis is brilliantly set up, the grip it has and it's ability to change direction is awesome. But the fact that it's 'only' 130bhp means it's never seems twitchy or like the chassis can't handle it.

Compared to other RenaultSport models I've driven such as the Clio 182 or my Megane 225, they have equally good chassis but the extra power means you have to be a lot more aware. You expect torque steer and understeer if you put down too much power mid corner.

The Twingo 133 is brilliant because you don't have to worry about any of that. You just put your foot down and hold on, the car does the rest. The lack of power is actually complements the good chassis. :)

If that makes sense haha.

Very true.

I had a 1.9dci megane that was remapped to about 180bhp / 320 lbs and that was a complete mess, in its case it wasnt the chassis it was the suspension set up etc, the car just wasnt tailored to that sort of power. Massive torque steer (even at speed) and understeered all over the place.

Good in a straight line and in gear acceleration but not ideal round the bends. My Mrs previous car was a 1.6 Megane Dynamique. Very comfortable and had decent grip but it wasn't especially good at handling! lol

My RS Megane is good but you have to be wairy of the loud pedal as even in the dry you can't be too keen at times.

Thing is the Twingo 133, you can drive almost to it's full potential, day in day out without being wreckless. I'm not a hard driver but even I find that you can't use half of the Megane's potential constantly, well unless you drive like a t*t and I strive not too.

Yeah the car can tramline a bit but TBH it's not as bad as my Civic was or my Pug.
Unles it's raining or I'm on a short journey the TCS is always off, if you get in mess with 131BHP you need locking up

It goes as fast as you need on the road and my fave with it is a nice severe sweeping bend, slow in 2nd gear green light on exit
