I'm trying desperately to not got back into car modding (too old for that now, let alone the lack of cash). So just wondered how much has anyone on here ever spent on modding a car.

To make a start the only car I have ever fettled was my 2004 Alfa 156 jts, I have included a price including the fitting were I could. (actually binning the receipts now)

- momo leather interior fitted = £450
- 17" Gta teledail alloys bought and referbed = £600
- remapped by alfatune = £400
- raggozon straight though centre section and backbox, all stainless fitted = £600
- Alfatune manifold and front section, including a race cat, complete one off, fitted = £900
- eibach -40mm springs with matched dampers fitted = £670
- eibach anti roll bar kit fitted = £550
- power flex bushes front and rear fitted = £300
- discs and calipers from a 2.4 JTD fitted =£200
- breaded break lines fitted =£100

Most of the changes I've ever made to a car have been audio and alloys.

I'd probably say a couple of grand has gone on my cars. If I add up the Megane, it's probably got about £1k spent on it in modifications.

I worked out the other day, that I've spent just about £1k on mine, such a lot of money I really can't believe it :/ atleast I'm happy with it now! Only tiny mods to do like getting some mats and shizz left on the list :)

I couldn't and wouldn't want to add up the cost of mods over the years, although I haven't actualy had many cars since starting in 1990. Fortunately the labour bill has been small :? :?

2nd car. 1.6 8V Astra Belmont. GTE seats and brakes. Lowered and gas shocks. A lot of diy head porting work with input from a tunners, skimmed and flow tested on a bench setup. rally cam, tubular manifold and straight through exhaust and webber carb. 165bhp on the rollers

3rd car. Fiat Cinquecento Sporting. Just springs and pads

4th Car. Toyota MR2 2.0 GTI. koni shocks, Eibach springs. Fully polly bushed suspension. Custom exhaust. Superchip piggyback chip.

5th car. Fiat Seicento Sporting. Just discs and pads

Well... long list !
- 4 Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels in 15" : 700€
- 4 Toyo R1R in 15" : 400€
- 4 OZ Ultraleggera 16" + winter tires : 1600€
- AST Sportline 2 coilovers + top mounts : 1900€
- rear strut brace + K&N airbox : 250€
- engine remapping : 450€
- Inoxline Performance custom made exhaust : 800€
- Ferodo pads : 200€
- Carbone Lorraine RC6 pads front and rear : 800€

- Recaro Pole Position seats + subframes : 2200€
- Schroth 4 point seatbelts : 500€
- complete geometry done twice this year : 500€

If i add to this all the labour time, the fact that i put the car into the armco in March, had to pay for the armco, the towing of the car out of the track, the cleaning of the track, the marshalls working time, etc etc, you add 7000€ to that note.

Summary of 2011 with the RS, with 116 laps of the Nürburgring with it (counting the laps price just for fun), that's an global amount of 18300€ :?

I dare anyone to do better next year

11 hours remapping???

indeed . 5 hours both at RS and Ktec, Ktecs machine at the time uploaded maps painfully slow and at RS on the first run it took something like 3mins for the first few dynos to hit red line (safe to say everyone was wearing if protectors that day)
