Drivin home from nando's last night and I hear a noise like my tyre was flat. I get out and check and all ok so set off again still hear that noise so get out again and look at my n/s front and to my disbelief 2 of my wheel nut bolts were missin. After fixin 2 out of the boot on I was on my way but my boy was goin mad sayin we could of been killed

did you check tighten them after painting your calipers?

Ones from the boot. I haven't checked, but are they long enough? The bolt area for the steel spare is thinner than an alloy, so i asume they would would be a bit shorter.

Have a look at the other two bolts that were still in, to make sure they haven't bent or stretched. Theres pics in the dodgy wheel bolt thread, showing a stretched bolt where the threads don't inter mesh.

Hopfully no lasting damage and both you and the wee fella are still fine :)

Happened to Russ on his r26 when someone left him with one bolt and the wheel was hanging off.

Hopefully, like Neil said, no damage has been done and glad you're okay!

Dont think I done them up propley :( just used the air gun.

Neil in my lockin wheel nut case there is 4 spear wheel bolts plus the spare wheel nuts

Then they're fine to use. I thought you meant they were from the spare wheel too.

Nah the 1's in the little box. I went over all of them with the wheel brace

Unusual for a wheel gun not to tighten them enough. Usually they over-tighten them. Maybe the wheel wasn't flush, when you put it back on.

As for your lad, tell him that he still will be if he mentions a word of it to his mother. ;)
