Well, I bought two different cheapo wheel brushes cause I didn't know which to get
Lets start with this one!
Obviously it's a velvet pro, no metal brush my dad says its just a pastry brush haha
Okay, straight away I wasn't expecting it to be much good, but wanted to try it anyway..
And I was surprised!
Firstly it feels nice in the hand, very light, and fits in any detailing bag no problem!
Because of the brisels you can get rightin any wall areas and around the rim lip with ease, and was very easy to remove all the break dust.. I used it with bilberry wheel cleaner.
Although it being small and handy, i found the brisels were probably maybe an inch too short, although its made of wood, I found myself hanging the alloys reaching for the back between the spokes, and it just couldn't reach between the 182 spokes to the calipers.. I found myself just shoving it in and out like a rapist to clean the calipers.. Which strangely worked very very well! Haha
So..
Pros:
Small
Light
Gets in tiny gaps like around bolts/ rim lip
Ease of use
Removes all dirt first time if used properly
Safe to use
Ultra easy to clean after use
Cons:
Too short brisels
Takes abit of time to clean all 4 wheels because its only small
Thick handle bangs on alloys
Cost: roughly £8 on ebay
Okay think I covered everything on that one
Also bought this one
Also used with the bilberry cleaner..
Straight away it removes break dust, goes between the spokes lovely getting in the awkward areas with ease
Must of took 30 seconds to clean the wheel!
The rubber on the end is a saviour, found that i kept tapping the alloy aiming to get between the spokes..
The bendy metal alloys you to clean the calipers quite easily, but doesn't get in small areas very well..
To clean the face of the alloy is abit awkward.. Using it on its side make you feel like abit of an idiot if anybody was to see haha
I found that after I washed off the alloys there were quite a few places I had missed, probably because I was blinded by the wheel cleaner every time the brisels flicked back pulling it through, it's a little bit messy, but nothing too bad
So
Pros:
Soft handle
Rubber on the end helps
Very fast cleaning
Gets calipers with ease
Can bend
Easy to clean afterwards
Cons:
Abit big overall to fit in a small detail bag and takes up a lot of room without squashing the brisels
Slightly messy
Potentially dangerous (has metal in the middle/end)
Awkward to clean face of alloy
Cost: £3
Bargain for both really..
Wasn't after anything special, as most people wouldn't be
So, if your after something to clean mega quick ide go for one of the large brisel metal ones
If you don't mind taking abit more time to clean them then go for the pastry brush
Both are great and to get them both for about £10 you can't loose haha!
