I put my wheels on today and they r scrubbing my front suspension they r fine on the back just not the front :( now do I bother ordering spacers? Or shall i just sell them again?
I'm worried cos it says spacers r illegal even the hubcentric ones and it invalidates insurance etc.
Kindof wish I just got team dynamics now cos they r costing a fortune :(

Where have you seen them to be illegal? I've literally just watched wheeler dealers put some on a land rover, doubt they'd put them on if they were illegal.

They aren't illawful, as long as the top of the tread surface does not exceed the limits of the car's body work, all's good :)

RS Arches would solve the extra poke ;)

Only illegal if the wheels stick out the arch I believe.

I had the eibach hubcentric spacers on my old fiesta, they were pretty good.

That's right, can't stick out the arches when the wheels are straight

Ah sorry to hear that mate :(

Personnally I would go for spacers, depending on how much clearance do you need??

As above they're not illegal if fitted correctly. It also won't invalidate your insurance... It's classed as a modification just like your new wheels etc, so just tell them what you've done and voila - valid insurance.

I doubt some small spacers would push the wheels out of the arches but it's an excuse for sport kit...

I need literally 2-3mm Clarence it's barely touching but u can hear it! The garage did say that cos I'm getting hankokc tyres the rim protector may not be quite so prominent as the continentals so may be fine but i know hubcentric ones only go from high 25mm so for the car to look right I'd need spacers on all 4 wheels

Ask Karl about that, but the contis offer so little protection as it is! They're a little stretched even

He's a picture with both the conti and hankooks tyres so you can see the protection

Hope this helps Hollie

Brill thanks everyone :) Karl thanks for the pics to me the lip protection on the continentals does look more pronounced but only slightly : / hmm will have to test it, it's weired cos I've spoke to a few people with 1.2 twingos who have 17" wheels with 205 profile and they say they don't rub on full lock at all :(

Okay after looking at the spacers definately getting the H&R 5mm spacers with extended bolts as they r approved etc. but Im not sure how I can get hold of some extended locking wheel nuts? U get the extended twingo bolts included but can u get extended locking nuts? Thanks yotah for the links :)

Thanks John
I get the extended bolts with the 5mm spacers when i order them but no mention of weather u can get the same size locking wheel nuts in guessing they make them all shapes and sizes
Thanks for the help

It's an old test report, but it shows not all locks are equal>>
https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/57587/locking_wheel_bolts.html

60 degree taper seat
M12x1.5 thread
17mm hex head drive for the spare wheel wrench (but get one the same as your bolts if they are going to be different size )
Shaft length dependent on your spacers. Starting from 26mm standard bolt, a 5mm would be one of these, 27015SU or 27221SU

Halfords usualy stock a range, so maybe worth a look
