So praise went out to the Wind for it;s relatively cheap, sporty motoring with it's chassis combo with the 1.6. Just curious as my mum is actually quite interested in one since I bouhgt my car, but due to her needs would prefer the 1.2. What I couldn't answer (and was too lazy to spend ages looking on my phone) was if the suspension is the same between the 1.2 and 1.6 and gt lines with the other lines?

If so... surely the 1.2 is the better option for anyone who would consider a remap as well as granny drivers like my mum

The 1.2 TCE Wind is based on the GT if thats what your wanting to know. And the 1.6 Wind is based on the RS but without the suspenion setup from the cup and cup packs.

So there is a difference in handling between the 1.2 and 1.6 wind? Cos my dad won't have it without the rs suspension he says. Not fussed between the cup and non cup though (he always complains mine is too firm). I just think he wants summin a bit more blokey about it

Best idea is to go out and test drive one and see what they think then he will know if he likes it or not.

Yeah would do, but the local dealer only has the one wind in stock, and they deffo ain't having that one. When I was buying mine I went inside the workshop with the salesman and it was having the rear boot lid resprayed as someone had burnt through the paint and he wanted my opinion on if it was repairable without a respray...

Ropey

I know of a car dealership that had a problem with a shipment of cars that came over on a ferry, becoming water damaged, damaging the paint work. they simply sent the cars to a local body work place, had them "touched up" and sold them on...

The 1.2tce version is quick as that's what my friend has, it's hangs on my arse until we really start chipping :-D

I agree with Karl go test them see which you prefer. Personally id go 1.2 instead of the 1.6

Right, im reading this and im confused.. why aren't people going with the 1.6?

Fuel economy, price, not everyone needs to go fast everywhere

Altho personally I don't know what the hell those guys are on about ;)

I own a Wind (1.2 Tce) and as far as I know, its all the same chassis (Clio RS, I think) & suspension for both models.

Haven't driven a Twingo yet but I very much like the way it handles.

I've had some race track experience (Brands Hatch & Abbeville in France) with the Porsche of my dad and I don't think I'd like a 'regular' car that hasn't got this road handeling. I'd love to take it to the Nurburgring (or any race track) and see how it handles.

Although the ESP reacts a little too early but thankfully you can turn it off.
