So a friend of mine got me thinking.. he drives an A6 with replica BBS LM, with wider ones on the back (they actually stick out on the back)

He was saying that wider wheels on the back would look nice on mine since my back wheelarch is alot bigger than the front.

I'm still thinking about winter wheels so I found this:

You can get them in wider rears

Maybe some slightly streched winter tires for some slow cruizing in the snow.

Opinions?

Yea they're still replica's and you get what you pay for.

Did yours get easily damaged from potholes?

Well it's a different kind of 'passion'. He's more about stance, huge ass rims, airride, etc..

Or I could refurb my original Renault wheels. 3 out of 4 have some terrible curb damage.

if theyre for winter you'd probably wana keep the curb damage lol, i'd be livid if i curbed them again after a refurb due to bad weather

Thing is, I don't want them to get worse and start getting rust where the damage is.

Either way, not driving with the OZ's in the winter with all the salt

as you said, they are meant for possing, showing off, blink blink style, but not for driving. And since Twingo RS is all about driving, the answer is there ;)

And that goes for GT as well  And the other thing, if so, i think it looks right just on the bigger cars

You certainly don't want wider rears in the snow. The fronts will already be having trouble gripping, and you want to introduce more resistance for them to overcome?

I know its worse but I was just thinking at cosmetics.. there's some other rims I found from Enkei (I love Japanese styled rims) but they were starting to get very expensive :?

15's at least you could get decent winter tyres with more sidewall to absorb any bumps. Cheaper too.

But apparently 15's are old school and not stylish enough for the youngsters

Been looking at some rims at 15" and it's strange, on one website it says the wheels fit and on another one it says the ET 38 wont go on my car.. :?

what offset and width is the standard size wind 1.2 wheel.

I know that et43 to et38 is the point where the rs133 starts to become tricky for tyre clearance. But that may be different for the Wind

Mine are ET50, but there's loads of room in the arches - don't forget, Winds run 205 width tyres as standard.

As for 15s are for the older generation, you're probably right. Function over form - and a 15 definately give a better ride in my Wind.

So, your saying the Wind standard size is 205/40/17 on 7x17 ET50 wheels... Is that the 1.6 and 1.2 versions :?:

On the RS Twingo, I know that 205/40/17 size rubber is getting close to rubbing on full lock at ET43, so maybe ET38 isn't possible on the Winds standard size rubber^^^. It's different bodywork on the wind, but dropping down to the same diameter as the RS133 runs (195/40/17), maybe ET38 would be fine.
