It's really wobbly under braking and I'n heavy cornering! It just doesn't feel like the twingo at all!!! No confidence I'n it now cus it doesn't feel the same!

Wheel balancing ?

Have you done the obvious checks? Tyre pressures (just one being out can make a HUUUGE difference). Were the tyre sizes same as before? Maybe you've brought the wheels out of alignment and it needs the geometry redone? Maybe even balancing?

With my old car, it was hugely sensitive to tyre pressures and having them set wrong made it feel totally horrid.

my mom got rid of her toyo t1r on her megane after only one month. quote: "drives like ****". my answer: "told ya. were also bad on my clio".

Hmmm, i havnt checked any of these things. I'm soo not good wen it comes to things like this. I have booked it into my local tyre garage, 2mo. I hope it's nout sereous. I dnt want to change my tyres. Can't afford to, i have read that alot of ppl have the proxies on there twingo and, not really any bad reports! I should have really just spent the bit more cash and got the conti's!

I`ve got proxies on my twingo as the minute and i find the front can mis behave when the tyre pressures are out, even if its only by a few psi.

Rite i am not really happy with the garages outcome! The boy said that he could kind of feel a wobble under breaking, so suggested new front discs and pads. As the front discs could be warpped he said, so when i asked did they look warpped when u looked at them he never answered my question, just said it felt like they could be warpped. I asked if it could be the new tyres, he stopped me instantly and said it isn't going to be a tyre problem! I am soo unhappy, he quoted me £260 for front discs and pads. £260!!!! That's crazy!! I have just shelled out £120 for the back pads and got the rear discs skimmed by Renault, and told the fronts were fine, and my service just happened last week, at a cost of £160, and i was told my brakes were fine! Wat the heck is goin on!!??

Any helpfull advice?

Go to another garage if you're not happy. It sounds like they've seen a girl with a car and are trying it on to me, it seems to happen far too often. Maybe there is a warped disk, maybe it is the tyres though and I wouldn't rule it out. He would cos it means ££££

Dont sound right to be honest. As you know i work in a Renault dealer. If the disks are warpped they would have seen that in the first place when the had the car in. Have you tryed putting the tyre pressures to the correct pressure ?

Also might be wheel balancing if they havent been balenced up right or the weight has fallen off all ready due to bad fitment and not cleaning the wheel up before sticking them on.

Or even could need you tracking re done.

If it wasnt there befor the tyres were done they it will need to be tyre related !

If the disks were warpped you would of felt it before now. They are trying to rip you off by the sound of things, not good. Like Maggi said try another garage because also as Karl said they would have notices that when they had it in and also when it was in for its service.

Yup, uz have all put my mind at ease. I took it out of the garage it was I'n this morning. And took it to he place i bought he tyres from originally. They seemed happy enough to help, re-balance all tyres for free and full tracking for £30. An he did say that it would have come up I'n my service if discs were warpped. He was really helpfull and truthfull. He said we will start with the simple stuff and hopefully that will all solve the issues, So i am waiting for them to carry out the work and hopefully have a happy twingo driver again! Lol. I am happy with ness city tyres with there service. Really helpfull! Fingers crossed we get it fixed.
Thanks for ur help so far twingo owners! :)

If the Toyo's have softer sidewalls this can affect things too, some people love Toyos some don't me I can't fault Continentals in terms of overall grip

By wobbly, do you mean the car squirms about, as if the rear is trying to overtake the front, or the steering wheel or brake peddle has the wobble?

As the tyres and rear brakes have been replaced recently, it could be either causing issues.

A rear brake binding up could start to lock under braking, probably causing the abs to be triggered earlier than expected. After a drive, are both rear brakes about the same temp... You should be able to feel or smell a binding caliper.
Brake disc runout could be checked with a DTI (dial test indicator), before replacing discs. Unless they have had some serious heat in them, it is rather unlikely to be a warped disc, normaly a little bit of crap between hub and disc can give some runout, but if this was the main problem, you would have noticed this once the brakes had been changed.

Get a digital pressure gauge and set all the tyre pressures to manufacturers pressures. then try adjusting up/down by 5psi and see if that makes a difference. Increasing the pressure of the fronts will lighten the steering a little.

ok, the second garage were far more helpfull yestarday!

I got all 4 wheels re-balanced, and got the tracking done. It was out by 3mm, which i was told I'n car terms that's a fair bit. Anyway.
I had it out for a wee bit last nite, nout crazy, just driving to football and back, and the steering seemed alot sturdier. I am gonna take it for a blast and c how it feels.
Thanks for all ur help guys!
