Split from the rear diffuser wanted thread

Can you add me to the list but im only ater one if a trader develops one for a decent price. Im not paying ailly money for a bit of plastic that does nothing but look good

Whilst companoes are deciding on this is it possible to make a functioning diff or at least one that causes zero drag ?

I like the idea but I dont think anyone will go to the trouble of re designing the diffuser and wind tunneling it etc.... It's a bit OTT.

I saw a lotus one tested using strips of paper hanging down and video recorded.

Think you want to start a new topic joe. This is for people who want the diffusers sold by Renault, or in the same design.

Fair one. Its not something we would consider TBH as I dont really see the benifit on the Twingo, its more for styling.. I'm of the same opinion on the 197 verison too.

As mentioned elsewhere, without chopping out the spare wheel well, its a non starter. At best you could get a flat floor, but no chance of a diffuser like the Clio 200 ;)

So, back to the original list please

Oh it can be done if it can be done on race cars like old mark 2 golfs it can be done on a Twingo.

Anyone want to step up and accept the challenge?

Of course it can be done . What we are saying is its just not worth doing on the Twingo. The cost involved would be big aswell .... again far too OTT for the Twingo..

Ive wanted one on all cars ive owned lol so if anyone gets one on here first it will be me lol

i can just imagine it now looking like an evil hedgehog poking ouy the back of the car ;)

Sweet. Let us know how you get on with creating a working divergence angle without chopping down or completely removing the spare wheel well or having the diffuser hang out the rear of the bumper line by a foot.

I guess that a Mk2 Golf race car would have a couple of things working in its favour to make a diffuser possible and indede work...
1. Space saver sized wheel would mean a shallower wheel well, allowing a greater height difference between the main floor / rear beam and the underside of the wheel well which would allow more room for a diffuser. Or alternatively have the well chopped out and then the whole lenght of the boot floor could be utilised.

2. Ride height. Theres not much point in having 2cm of divergence if the space under the diffuser is over 20cm like on the Twingo. The change in pressure would be naff all and air would feed in from the sides to equalise any pressure differential which did occur.

Cheers Neil.

It's a nice idea but costly and I can't see any benefit. And IMO won't add anything aesthetically that thr gt diffuser wouldn't already. Perhaps a gt with further additions

Interested to see what actually happens though of course

Sorry singlespeed - my comment was for the aesthetic diffuser that the company were on about making - meant to put myself on the wanted list price depending.

A working rear diffuser is silly for a posh twingo - let alone a 1.2 !! Haha.

Guys, ours are going to be moulded next week so will be available in FRP and carbon. There is a wanted thread with names for people to keep track of these

Does anyone know if these diffusers actually got moulded? If we can get some pics up that would be awesome! An idea of what's required to fit them and cost would be great also.
