Im getting ever so slightly bored of my car (i know that sounds bad as i've only had it 5 minutes).. i can't stop looking at Z4s... you can pick them up pretty cheaply... and they look awesome, anyone had any experience with them? (yes i appreciate this isn't a BMW forum.. but we are all car lovers so lets share the love).

thanks

Dad has owned 2 Z4s in past few years and said he would only ever get the 3litre as all the others are underpowered and not as fun 0-62 is roughly 5.9 seconds and it is rather comfortable but a bitch to pull forwards in the parking space(mahoosive bonnet)

MPG think it was averaging around 28mpg it was an awesome car, however, dont even think of driving it much in rain/snow the back end kicks out a lot! On a wet roundabout even at sensible speeds the slightest amount of throttle and you're in for some sideways action!

The boot was large enough to fit my fencing gear in so is reasonably large and the sound is so satisfying with the top down ;)

Maybe slightly biased towards them though....

EDIT: forgot to mention they cost a lot to maintain, high road tax, low MPG for a daily, expensive tyres to replace and high service costs which was the main reason they got rid.

Z4s are nice cars, especially the newer models.

But I must say, I'd be more inclined to look at a Porsche Boxter.

Each to their own.

Personally I prefer a Z4 to a boxter but if I HAD to buy one I wouldn't choose either of them I'd have a s2000 theres something about sporty Hondas that I just love.

Wouldnt a tt suit robs image more? The difference could be spent on some fake tan

a friend was so kind lending his 3.0 Z4 to me for a few quick turns on the slalom course... the engine is impressive.. silky smooth and powerful. Handling was poor though. No agility at all. But that might be because of the ridiculously big poser M-wheels, ultra low profile tires and a mix of standard suspension with M-springs...

It looks really great and with a custom exhaust it sounds incredible! but if you are after handling, go for a S2000 ;)

Fredi was that cone eaten shortly after that? Or was it far enough to just slide past it?

And the engines in them is impressive, and sound good. Issue for me was being taken out in both a z3 m coupe and a z4 m coupe. And now I could only have the 3

I don't like the interior on the z4 and it was clearly confused, neither a comfortable cruiser or a proper handling car

I like the Z3 Coupé, I loved it in Need for Speed Prostreet. Was my favo drifting car and made it look like the batmobile BUT its BMW so I'd rather have a Porsche Boxter.

keen observation ;) I touched it with the front bumper but it stayed in place. In my defense: 5 minutes earlier I was tackling the course with the twingo and I just jumped in and did 3 laps without knowing the car. the bonnet is not exactly helping ;) however I managed to scrap 2 seconds from the Z4s owners best lap time (~40sec. lap)

Yeah I've moved one, and the bonnet is huuuge and as you sit low it's not easy to tell where it is unless you know the car. Brave to slide it  looks awesome fun!

Oh and for the record if that were me id probably have just run it over :p

Well just waiting on a quote to have my car professionally detailed... so maybe when the shine is back to how it used to be ill be happier with the car....

Used to work for BMW so have driven countless.

As what's been mentioned, nothing less than the 3.0 is worth getting if you want to get one(imo)

Personally, I don't like them anyway! Not a fan of the looks and didn't find it comfortable to be in. Could imagine a long journey being awful!
