Hello. New to the forum. I intend to test drive both cars but wanted to see what the general view was.

Does the Cup drive that much better?

Thanks.

No experience with the cup, I've been driving my 2010 133 for almost a year now and it's lovely, the way I use the car it doesn't need low profile tires and harder springs but the cup rims make it look so much better

Yes, totally different car, ridiculous good with a Cup Chassis. It is what makes the RS special.

When my first RSCup needed to be replaced I test drove an Abarth 595 Competitizione and whilst that was stunningly quick, a great spec and an amazing sounding Monza exhaust it wasn't even close to the cornering you get with the Cup chassis. I bought another RSCup Twingo, purely for the chassis.

Although the bad point is that it does hurt your teeth, partly from the hard ride and partly due to too much grinning.

You can check whether it's a cup chassis by looking at the colour of the stickers on suspension (Purple?) - I think there's an article on this site somewhere.

Try and get a full fat RS that has had the Cup chassis added (Rather than the standard Cup version) -

Nothing wrong with the standard Cup version but it was sold as a 'weight saving' version - in other words it has a bench seat and no rear headrests and a/c which makes it cheaper for Renault to make but did little really to the weight.

Thanks both.

So the FF has the 2 rear seats and air con AND then the cup chassis?

Ive experienced the clio cup. My concern is purely just the very firm ride!

Thanks.

Yes, that's right. FF two rear seats, headrests, tinted windows, ac, auto lights and wash wipe - nice stuff like that. Then you spec a Cup chassis. It's a firm ride, but not 'crashy' if that makes sense. Man hole covers hurt but the cup chassis is fine for day to day driving.
