Does a panel filter and air filter go in the same place so i can only have one??. And if so what is best to get?? Thanks
 
Technically the same thing the panel filter is a direct replacement for whatever you have as standard, usually an air filter 'needs' a tube from the throttle body to said filter.

In theory an air filter will be better but the high temps in the engine bay may give 'worse' results compared to a panel filter.
 
An induction kit will give you plenty of noise possibly no gains. Unless you spend time and more enclosing it and forcing air into it.
A panel filter will replace your old air filter again next to no gains but will never need changing.

A panel filter is a type of air filter element designed for the standard airbox. Cotton ones are washable unlike the standard paper ones so it means you never have to replace it.. You can also get induction kits with the air filter either enclosed in a new airbox or one without an airbox. an (open) induction kit with a poorly positioned filter is very likely to suffer from heat soak from the engine and this will sap power due to the lower air density..

Bit of a noob-y question, but how often do the Green panel filter's need cleaning? Is it approx the same as standard filters need replacing, or should it be more/less often?
 
I shook a load of bugs/butterflies and other debris out on my BMC induction filter the other day, after 5000 miles.

A propper clean is in order once I'm home again :)

probably means the Apollo CIS doesn't use any parts that they weren't already supplying. a panel filter would require new moulds to be made up as the filter isn't shared with other cars as far as I'm aware so may take a bit longer for them to get on to it..

Yes, but the 1.2 is already there and the 1.6 is not on their "wanted" cars list...
 
Positives:
its an enclosed kit with a cold air feed so helps prevent heat soak
Has a cotton filter so is washable
Million Mile Limited Warranty
Easy to fit
air feed does not restrict air flow

Negatives:
made from plastic rather than carbon fibre so could insulate better
more expensive than other plastic enclosed kits such as BMC DIA
cold air feed is aluminium reinforced card which can wear on engine bay and break up.. (better to have heavy duty pvc ducting or a silicon / alloy pipe combination)
