I know that it's hard to comprehend at the time and that it's horrible to see your pride and joy in a state because of another person, but it can be replaced, unlike you.

Just a quick update the rear axle is F@:< and the estimated repair costs so far is £5400.00 which is too near the value of the car so they are considering writing it off :(.

I have spoken to a renault specialist and a local body shop and they reckon they can do it for a lot less, so hopefully the insurance will accept the contract repair. I would much rather get the car fixed than buy another one.

I dont really know what to get plus I spent so much time on that car so fingers crossed that they can consider it.

I hate if it ought to come to it but maybe I should offer to top up some of the repair costs to bring the car back on to the road (even thought the accident wasnt my fault, but if they refuse then dont see another way around it).

Don't offer anything towards payment, only do that as a FINAL option...

What's the outcome from the other driver? Has she admitted fault?

When you posted, I could only see the message, not the pictures :(

Now I'm home, I see the Meg is back on its feet, with a smilie face hanging from the mirror. It still looks good and makes a Twingo look common. I guess your happy it wasn't written off

So has the coffin dodger accepted responsibility? Good to know you've had a happy ending and the car is fixed.
