Seems it depends on what tyre you decide to stretch after further googling

the picture above is probably reinforced sidewall and the one below isnt ;)

The nankangs on my wheels have a lip and show more stretch than the contis.

Why can't garages just match the fudging tyres when they replace them to sell a car!!!
 
Nankangs are used by people who want stance wheels with streched tyres but don't want to spend money on something that keeps them on the road..
