Well my Mrs bought me a new car cover from Coveryourcar.co.uk, a nice Stormforce job just before our building work started on the house.

Unfortunately that was four months ago and today I finally opened it up to cover the Twingo..........doesn't fit!

Exactly the same cover as Karl's but is doesn't pull doesn't pull down even as far as the rear wheels shown here :

I've e-mailed them so I'm hoping they'll exchange it but after 4 months I'll be lucky. Fingers crossed as I can only assume they've sold me the wrong one rather than a faulty one.

When ordering you did say it was a twingo rs and not a normal twingo?

If no luck let me know and ill talk to greg who owns the company

Yeah definitely made sure it was it a Sport.

Funnily enough I used one of their covers before they did a sport specific one and it fitted better than this one does.

I then ordered a Monsoon version which got a rip in it so opted for a Stormforce. But it's either wrong or faulty as the back end won't even come close.

Thanks Mr Geeko :)

Well I've had some e-mail correspondence from a nice lady called Steph at Coveryourcar who is going to try and sort out the problem. She understandibly asked for some pictures of the cover fitted, as you can see it just doesn't fit!

Fits at the front ok.....

No chance at the back though, even the non-Sport covers pull down further than this. Hem is way too tight and there's not enough heigh in the top part.....

Let's just hope she's able to work some magic and sort it out. I know it's clearly the totally wrong cover but 4 months is a long time before I was able to realise it! :(

Looks like a mistake in the manufacture process to me.
I had one of these for my V6 and it was a snug fit and covered the wheels almost to the floor.
Don't think you, will have any problems sorting it,they are a good company and did a group buy for V6 Clio.net including custom lettering/logo's and everyone was happy with the product.

Alex , happened to me too they sent standard Twingo cover rather then RS version... Exact same issue as you and fitment.

Swapped it straight away tho , just give them a try.

5GT - it ain't a manufacturing fault , the code on the cover wil be for a standard Twingo , just human error .

Thanks for the replies chaps. The only thing that made me think it was the wrong cover was that the first cover from them was a Voyager cover which wasn't for a sport but it covered a lot more of the car than this one although could just be the difference in the type of cover.

I'm just hoping they are as good as I hope in letting me swap it as it has been beyond their terms and conditions.

Problem was that my Mrs bought it to replace the cover she damaged and that was at the beginning of our building work. Rather than d!ck about I just put the cover in the cupboard still packaged up to put on the car when it was done. Having had four covers from them in the past I had no reason to think it was wrong. Building work went on for twice as long as expected hence it taking 4 months even though the cover first saw daylight on Sunday!

Got my Twingo washed and covered up with my new Stormforce cover!

Yeah just slightly mate. Made sure it's nice and secure like my Monsoon cover which never shifted, even in the really windy weather. :)

I've herd some covers rub, has anyone ever had this problem. Those of you who cover your cars, do you use them daily. Or is it for when not in use?

Correct me if I'm wrong but you should only place a cover on a car when its cleaned.

If it's dirty and you put a cover over it, it will rub the dirt into your car = bad mojo

Absolutely right, you only want to be fitting a cover on a totally clean/dry car.

I've always used car covers, at least for the last 6 years or so. I haven't had a 'daily' car since I started commuting by train. Leaving a car uncovered for a week or more at a time isn't ideal so I've used covers.

It's basically common sense with them really. The car has to be totally clean and properly dried. Then you need a cover designed for your car, not a generic one which you need to fit and secure well. The ones from Coveryourcar have two underbody straps which you need to make sure are tight when fitted.

As long as it is fitted correctly, it will hardly move around and if the car is clean you won't find it marks the paintwork either. The only bit of movement I have with my cover is that if the wind is blowing down the drive it shifts it slightly up the rear wheels and the elastic edge has popped over the tailpipe. That's as bad as it goes.

The only thing I would advise is buy a heavy duty cover such as a Monsoon or Stormforce cover. I used to have a Voyager cover and it never held up against the wind as well, corners ocassionally blew up which then meant removing the cover until I could was it again. That said a Voyager cover is lightweight so good if you only want to cover the car for a few days at a time.

Hope that helps :)
