Just done my first ever days snowboarding, and thought it was pretty awesome :D

Was pretty good at it for a first time (I think) which might have helped. Lots of falling over at points, but all good fun.

Anyone else do any snow sports? Boarding/skiing etc...

Used to go every year at school, went to France and Austria skiing. Loved every minute of it. Haven't done it since then though. Fair play to u mate, well done for trying something different. Gets addictive when u get really good at it

my mum has always skied so i always skied on family hols until i was about 14 years old and had a week on a snowboard because i used to love skateboarding and wanted to see if it was similar.

skiing is great for the speed  but i now spend most of my time on the snow on my boards
love it

I've skied since i was 4 and i do it at least once a year...love it!!!

Tried snowboarding but it just wasn't for me!

where did u go to try it??was it a dry slope??or an indoor place??

It was out in Canada on the slopes.

I had lessons before hand in the snow zone in Milton Keynes Xscape but then i had 2 weeks boarding in Canada and i just didnt like it:/

the xscape building looks wicked!went in there a few weeks ago and ended up buying a few new bits from the shop nxt to the snow entrance
im looking forward to getting in there with my board!

do u go there alot?is it expensive??

oo sorry:( haha

Yer its a nice place...as i work in MK i can pop in there any day...

i probably go into the snowzone about once a year...its not that expensive...but the run isnt that long and it can get busy.

We should have a meet up and go for a board/ski

I went to the snow dome at tamworth. Wanted to go to a place with some sort of snow rather than a dry slope. It's pretty good seeming there. A 170m run with a sort of bowl section at the top (loved the speed coming down there :D )

If you're into freestyle stuff, they have a ramp, box and quarter pipe permanently set up which looks pretty fun :) , and have freestyle sessions that they put loads more put for.

Having done plenty of skateboarding a few years back, when I got tired I kept trying to fall back into skateboard mode and lean into the turn (back/forwards) a bit too early. That got a little painful towards the end of the day. But just a little sore on the lower back, and no other injurys/tired mussels so I'm happy with that :D

I managed to get out to Glenshee for the first time ever this year, first time on Snow.
Was brilliant, managed to sprain my ankle at the end of the day though  The joys of Snowblades on Deep soft snow :p

I'm looking at going to Snowbombing next year, looks insane!

M

my parents own a place in the alps so i get to go skiing 2 or 3 times a year which is good :)

I also been to the MK snow dome a few times which is good for a bit of practise before setting off to the pistes

Will hopefully be doing snow kiting this year somewhere with my mate kite up into the mountains go explore then snowbord back down :).

Thought I'd revive this thread in-case either any of the more recent members partake in snowsports or any existing members have since taken it up, and also just in time for the close of the winter x-games.

Have done a lot more snowboarding since this - and am hitting some real slopes later in the year.

Been talking to my brother for possibly going snowboarding for a a long weekend in the Alps but nothing for sure.

Don't have a board myself but my brother has 2 but I love my Dragon goggels though

Not got as far as getting a board yet. Got Tog24 type level of jacket/trousers/helmet/gloves etc, though I do have a set of Nike Vapen boots which are pretty awesome.
