Street racing isn't big or clever and is of course dangerous but let's be honest. We've all had that little traffic light grand prix!!!! There is a big difference between driving dangerously and giving it a bit of acceleration in safe place.

So on that note I've surprised a few cars, the Mrs surprised some muppet in a BMW 318.

Thing is I'm not one for sitting there, raising the revs and side stepping the clutch. I prefer to pull away and if needs be keeping my foot down and take it through the revs. Had some guy in a Civic Type-R next to me at a set of lights. Could hear him build the revs up and then pulled away when the lights went green.

He shot ahead where as I pulled away normally and just kept it in gear.

Turbo and Torque 1
V-Tec and revs 0

;)

Swift Sports Claim 125bhp but I think it is heavier as you say.

I honestly don't think there's much in it at all, had plenty of "plays" with my mates and one of them with a Pre Facelift that's remapped and modifed, said he couldn't catch me. But I still don't think there's much in it.

Swift is faster round the 'Ring...

What's the twingo's time on the ring out of interest?

I had an s2000 revving the nuts off his car, i swear I saw the tappets hit the bonnet it was revving so high, at me at the traffic lights the other day. Is it just me, or does having a white car with black wheels act as an invite for tosspots to try it on? I know his car is faster. He knows his car is faster. So why does he need to prove it?

I'm not sure if the twingo in reality is even all that quick, it is rapid across country no doubt about it, but a lot of cars are. I think the twingo is ultimately more fun. And there's a difference :p

It absolutely does mate, fortunately although the Twingo isn't hugely fast in a straight line it'll see of the average cars out there.

Funny thing is I overtook a Clio driving like a t!t on a dual carriageway. Then next set of traffic lights he swings out next to me to gun it off the lights.

He shot off the line, was probably on the clutch waiting for a green light. I pulled off and kept my foot in (in the Mrs car with her next to me). Was up alongside him by the time it was time to change to 2nd, which he'd already done.

What do I do???? Totally fluff the gear change into 2nd!!! What a c*ck hahahaha.

He's now probably told all of his mates 'Those Twingo 133s ain't that quick, I did one no trouble in my 1.4 Clio'. I let the side down I'm afraid.

haha done that alex! The best one i had was about 3 weeks ago. Clio 172 behind a grand voyager people carrier at the traffic lights, i pull up and he notices me so pulls along side the voyager at the front of the lights in the wrong lane to go straight on. it's got ktec drawn all over it, 18" chav wheels and a fat exhaust out the back that looked and sounded awful (imagine a really, really wet fart). Then lights go green and he boots it to try and cut in front. And the voyager absolutely shot off and totally owned him! I nearly wet myself laughing  that thing was mental fast.

Hahaha who'd have thought it from a Grand Voyager as a 172 isn't slow.

I remember being in my 172 and saw this Corsa pull up next to me. It was purple and ridiculously loud. I just thought 'Chav wagon'.

Pulled away from he lights and both put our foot down, by the time I was changing to 2nd gear he was a car's length ahead!!! WTF!! Ended up in the same petrol station further up the road and it turned out have a GSI engine on throttle bodies pushing 250bhp. That'd do it haha.

Do they stick like hemi's in them voyagers thinking about it?

A mate has bought an old shape 1.8 mx-5 for summer, off the line he's a shade quicker up to 40ish because of better traction but in gear I've got the edge and can pull away from him fairly easily. Another of my mates has a Fiesta ST and there is literally nothing in it between us both in gear and from standing :)
