Looking good!!! How's it handling now mate?

+1

Are they the FK springs? I've been looking at them for awhile.

Get them bought Dubz!! I'm not usually one for banging on about the same thing but I will with lowering! Lol i can't believe the difference they make. Makes the twingo so much fun! Blacktwingo-I has lowered his i-music 40/40 and his car corners like a house fly!! I **** you not!!

Thanks guys :)

I shall have to let you know tomorrow or at the weekend on the handling front as I'm waiting on my new tyre to arrive (they've said expect delivery tomorrow) so I can put the stupid red steelie back under the boot where it belongs lol.

I would have done it all in one go but the springs arrived this afternoon and I just didnt want to wait hehe.

The only downside is that I managed yo put a crack in the offside side skirt where the arm of the ramp shifted when I was lowering the car down onto blocks of wood and it pulled the skirt downwards :-( so now I need to try repair it or source a replacement!! I'll take a pic of the crack tomorrow if anyone is interested and wants to give me an idea how to fix it or knows if I can buy a new one?

Ps. Going to oxford at the weekend...country A and B roads....

Shoukd be good fun I'll go the long way round to my gf's place once I hit oxford so I can take a more windy route ;-)

Its kind of bad..coukd be worse but basically has put a single crack in it running vertical top to bottom of the skirt but hast completely cracked in two there is still a small bit underneath thats atrached...don't really know what tondo about it bar just taping it for the time being (so motorway speed air doesn't get in there and lift it clean off the car) then just getting something like epoxy resin and glueing it back together :-/

Might ring renault and see how much the front lip and side skirts are if they still do them that is.... but will have to be repaired for the time being running low on money now lol.

Ah I see, taping it down for a quick temp fix would be a good idea or remove it so you dnt lose it. Maybe getting a a body shop to repair it and paint it will be cheaper than a new one from Renault. Nothing worse than doing something to your car and braking something else in the process! It's happened to me a few times! Lol

I don't think it'll come off due to the epically strong glue they put on them plus it has a screw or two either end if I remember rightly.

There's an idea thanks....might give our bodywork guy a ring and see if he has any ideas if/how much its be fixable for.

Another idea....epoxy resin it back together then black or orange carbon wrap lol

Here's a pic of the damage inflicted upon my sideskirt :-(

Update on ride and handling....

So after the weekend of sticking my car through the twisties at the local test track ;-) ...here is my verdict on the springs.

Ride is a bit more bouncy but firm (if that makes sense) not really crashy and not harsh at all, seems the standard shocks still have enough room in them to cope and give good damping.

Through the corners the car feels so much more planted and sure footed! It feels so much better than standard I wish I'd done it sooner!! It gives you confidence to carry more speed through the corners and copes with it with no dramas or twitching.

Body roll is massively reduced too, to the point that the first bend I went through I found myself sliding slightly sideways in my sleep.

Its probably the same with all lowering springs but as these are the first set I've ever had on a car this I only have the standard set up to compare it too :-/

Just need some spacers at some point to give it even more of a stance ;-)

Oh god I'm so un-observant its not even funny!!! Didn't even realise I'd written sleep instead if seat even after it was highlighted!! Feel free to abuse me lmfao
