Self adhesive velcro to back of the footrest. Thats how Twingogeekeo has his accelerator pedal fitted as a footrest.

Velcro side will stick to the carpet like sh!t to a blanket lol

Then if you change your mind and decide to have a different one you can swap it in seconds ;-)
