Omg.. Guy just came.. Literally 30 seconds, basically clipped the cable back on and it worked! Told me to take it to Renault to get a new one fitted cause it's loose and shouldnt be happening to such a new car.. Home yay :D

God, they do like to take there sweet time, the guy who recovered my car when it happened to me put the car down as a renault clio and then crunched it out of gear and also left the handbrake on while putting it up the ramp, I wish he was more helpful like your person.

Glad you got it fixed mate, hopefully you get it sorted no bother soon :)

The problem with mine is the gear link cable is rattling, did you hear anything odd when you accelerated before this all happened? Might be an underlying issue with the 1.2s!

Haha I guess I'm pretty lucky.. Nope, not any sound at all.. Just the noise of it comeing off.. Don't have any noises with mine.. The air flow made a slight whistle for about a month last year but thats about it

Ive know on a few Twingos for the clutch pedal to break.

If memory is serving me right there was a re call on this but dont qoute me on this i just remember a while back about this happening

When i spoke to RUK the other day they said there was no recall or advisories on anything to do with the clutch in the 1.2s, i was under the impression there was as a guy on TOC said there was for my problem with the clutch.. But nope nothing whatsoever!

Maybe there wasn't a recall all I remember we had a few in at one of our branches and they all had the same problem with a clutch pedal that had broken.

Its still annoying, there must be an underlying issue somewhere along the line with these for it to happen so often!

Steve at co-op blackpool will sort you. Surely that will be under warrentee. When my clutch went on my megane, it had just turned 3 years old, and apparently it wasn't covered. Co-op blackpool sorted it (i didnt part with any money) and they chased it with RUK. I offered to pay 1% so that the work will be covered out side of what was left of the warrentee.

Yeah i was in renault by morrisons this morning, booked in on wednesday morning.. my friend made a video of my clutch going i might post it.. was a little funny

Hi All
Just found this forum while searching to find out if there was ever a recall for the clutch pedal problem?
The Link rod has fallen off twice on my wifes 1.2 Twingo, all I've had from the dealer so far is it needs whole new assembly at around £280. (just for the part)
The car has only done 14,000 miles.

thanks.

As we are on the subject of clutch operation, how is everyone's on here? Just I've got a mighty high bite on the thing and often pulling off in 1st looks like i'm on wallaby water. And done basic checks for slipping.

Should I be checking the cable in this instance? Did the guys who experienced the "ping" have a similar clutch feel?

Mines not holding too well... Slipping if I boot it from low revs. But other than that it's not bad

The RS has a hydraulic operated clutch

crap, so clutch will be the next job. If i didn't like the car so much I'd be angry about it!
