Right just wondered if anybody could comment on how hot their engine gets because when I stop and park up my engine is always really hot even for about an hour or so afterwards, just doesn't seem to cool down! also I've never once heard my fan come on even After I've been thrashing it :S do you think my thermostat or fan may not be working? Cheers in advance!

The engines in the 133 stay very warm for a long time, I've felt mine about 3 hours after a decent drive and it's still very warm to touch. I also have never heard my fan come on

Well that gives me a bit of comfort to know it's not just mine!

well if you were thrashing it liam, you'd hear engine ... exhaust, road noise. i've never heard a fan come on in my life in any car whilst sitting in the drivers passengers compartment lol. the electric fan kicks in at a set temperature of which i believe is 120 degrees celsius. it's a very quiet fan and you can barely hear it when you're observing it spin!

it's rarely used though because the radiator does a fine with providing a huge surface area for cooling the coolant

Yeah I suppose you wouldn't even know if it was on would you ha! Think it's just where I'm used to my old 106 where i would here the fan come on every 30 seconds especially in traffic haha that was a very loud fan though!

peugeot are a primordial company though ;) usually what you're hearing on a peugeot is parts falling off the engine and if you listen closely especially on the 205/206 GTI's, did you ever see their placement of the brake servo unit? they produced all their cars in left hand drive format and didn't move the servo unit to take into account right hand drive markets so getting to it is halfway into an engine out / lowered job !

much older cars used viscuous fans though and you could hear those baddies from a mile away, fred flintstone had one on his car lol!

Think old Volvo's had those too. In our family we used to have only Volvo's, from the long square tanks to the more modern one's and the old squarish tanks made alot of fan noise.

Haha although I do agree with you, In the year I had my 13 year old 106 I had less problems than I have had with my twingo since I brought it in January! Ha ;/ but I know what you mean I think they make them out of cheese don't they? ;)
